Jenny Humphreys is a Strategic Voice and Influence Lead for Advocacy and Capacity Building, as well as the dedicated chair of our LGBT+ Network. 👏

“It's increasingly worrying to see a rise in homophobia, biphobia and transphobia across the country and even more worrying when there is discord within the community itself.”

“My job is about ensuring corporate departments and services are better able to listen, respond and act on the voices of children and young people across the charity. Working with teams to make sure that the opportunities are ethical, meaningful and have real impact.”

While Jenny's primary focus is amplifying the voices of children and young people, she also makes it a priority to champion and listen to her colleagues. 📢

“The networks can be a really powerful force in charity, and I think it's really important that colleagues do have that resource available to them, that they have that support and community voice.”

Of course, many people find that community and support outside of work but work is a big part of our lives, so if we can find that within work as well and create those networks for each other, that's really special.”

"I've been watching an old series (2017) that popped up on one of my streaming services called "When we rise" a miniseries about the history of LGBT+ rights advocacy in the United States from the 1970s to the 2010s and a great reminder of not only what our community has been up against but also the power in activism and coming together to support our collective causes as one."
