Creating a pathway for the future

In a world where the only certainty is its unpredictability, our humanity and kindness to each other matter more than ever.

I was deeply touched by the kind and supportive comments and messages I received after I shared about my husband’s advancing Parkinson’s Disease in my last newsletter.

Thank you so much - they meant the world to both of us.

In that last edition, I talked about how I needed to adapt my business so I could keep doing what I love while being able to support his growing needs.

When we take time to reflect and become clear in our thinking, the path emerges.

The start of a new adventure

As someone who loves to innovate and create meaningful work, I wanted to develop something which would add real value to professionals and their careers, be easy to sustain and future-proof for you and me alike.

So, I just launched something that feels like a natural next step - one that brings together my love of coaching and writing in a way that’s both meaningful and sustainable for all.

It’s a newsletter (and more) called Career Alchemy with Carolyn Parry and lives on the Substack platform.

If you’re not familiar with it, Substack is a growing space with over 50 million active members. where writers, coaches, and thinkers share thoughtful and mercifully ad-free content directly with readers.

It’s home to a wide range of voices in personal development, careers, well-being, science, culture, and more—from Adam Grant , Susan Cain, Jonathan Fields, Emma Gannon, Daniel Pink, Rory Cellan Jones, Angela Duckworth, Victoria Llorca-Smith and James Clear, to career sector colleagues like my fellow CDI Fellow, Janet Colledge and Dr Denise Taylor .

As a platform, Substack allows me to create something I can’t easily do here on LinkedIn - a career development ecosystem of support and resources for professionals who want to achieve more success and fulfilment in work and life – without the burnout.

What to expect

If you enjoy this LinkedIn newsletter, you’ll find the same spirit over there - just with more content and space to explore and think.

My Substack has four main sections:

  • Understanding You – Identity, mindset, strengths, purpose.
  • Developing Your Career – Strategy, transitions, opportunities, overcoming challenges.
  • New Trends – Future and growing sectors, portfolio careers, impact work,
  • Career & Life Well-being – Energy, balance, health, and giving back.

Some of the content is free and will remain so for ever.

Those who choose to take a paid subscription to support my work will receive access to exclusive Time to Reflect activities—micro-coaching prompts designed to help you uncover personal insights, build momentum, and navigate your career with clarity.

And over time, I’ll be adding live online workshops, occasional podcast episodes, and more ways for us to connect and support one another too.

For those who are curious...

You’ll find content like this waiting for you:
