Minister Defends Dublin MetroLink Against High-Profile Criticism

New DART station Woodbrook opens in Dublin

Government Data Centre Completed in Kildare
A new 8,300 sqm government data centre has been completed at the Backweston Campus in Co. Kildare, with operations scheduled to begin in 2026. The facility will replace multiple smaller State-run centres and support critical services for Revenue, An Garda Síochána, and the Department of Social Protection.

A planning application has been submitted for 195 apartments across three blocks at Parson Street, Maynooth. The €70m+ scheme includes a childcare facility, café, and over 400 bike spaces. Heights range from 2 to 7 storeys, with a mix of 1, 2, and 3-bed units.
