Insights to inform, educate, and act
Welcome back to ‘Sustainability in motion’. In this edition, we cover:
Our Co-CEO, Marc Roodhuyzen de Vries recently had the privilege of joining an energising breakfast discussion hosted by For Good Leaders during the ChangeNOW France summit — a global gathering of changemakers in Paris (Part of ChangeNOW ).
The session featured Paul Polman , a globally respected leader in purpose-driven business. He shared timely and thought-provoking insights on the kind of leadership the world needs today.
Some takeaways of their discussion:
🌱 The urgent shift from doing “less harm” to creating regenerative models that restore both people and planet. Adaptive leadership — grounded in humility, awareness, and bold action — is more critical than ever.
🤝 The need for collaboration over competition, especially when addressing global challenges. Bridging divides is where real impact begins.
💪 With over 50% of the global population under 30, empowering youth-led movements such as the B Corp community is essential for driving meaningful change. And above all, privilege must be used responsibly — to act, lead, and build a better world.
As Paul reminded us: “If you're too comfortable, you're not doing enough.” Let’s scale what matters and lead with purpose — together.
We’re excited to share the launch of our brand-new, four-part video series designed to guide organisations through every step of their EcoVadis journey. Each month, we engage in events—either hosting or as guests—with a strong focus on community engagement and meaningful exchange. Whether we're helping shape future sustainability leaders or strengthening our network with peers in the field, these moments are key to driving impact together.
This month, we had the pleasure of hosting HEC Paris MBA students and winners of our Consultant for a Day raffle for an engaging session on ESG strategy and purpose-driven business at Nexio Projects.
Our consultants led a deep dive into sustainability strategies through an interactive case study on Tony's Chocolonely , exploring how the brand can scale its impact while staying true to its mission. Students took on cross-functional roles, tackling real-world challenges and trade-offs in a dynamic, collaborative setting.
💡 The session sparked thoughtful debate, sharp insights, and fresh ideas — a true reminder of the innovation driving the future of sustainable business.
Thank you all for your energy and enthusiasm — we loved having you!
In the past month, there have been notable updates across several key ESG frameworks.
CDP introduced a major update by launching a new integrated disclosure format, marking a significant shift in how companies report on climate, water, and forest-related impacts. Additionally, both B Corp and the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) announced updates to their respective standards, reflecting broader changes across the ESG landscape. Here are the key updates you need to know:
🌍 CDP
CDP’s 2025 questionnaire introduces only minor updates, focused on improving clarity, usability, and alignment with global standards, while retaining the integrated structure launched in 2024. Key changes include refined guidance on reporting boundaries, transition plans, and emissions verification, with continued alignment to frameworks like ESRS and IFRS S2. Climate, forests, and water remain scored, while plastics and biodiversity are still unscored but encouraged for disclosure. Read more in our blog article!
✅ B Corp
B Lab has released draft revisions to the B Corp certification standards, signalling a move towards more rigorous and measurable impact requirements across key ESG areas. These changes aim to better reflect the evolving expectations of stakeholders and the increasing urgency of global sustainability challenges. Discover further in our blog article!
📉 SBTi
The SBTi has published Version 2.0 of its Corporate Net-Zero Standard, featuring updated criteria designed to provide clearer guidance and strengthen ambition in corporate decarbonisation strategies. The revisions seek to enhance transparency and ensure alignment with the latest climate science. Read our blog article to find out more!
