New West Denver Test Engineering Meetup on Thursday!
Sitting inside my house staring at the frozen wasteland outside, it gets a man to thinking. “Can I put myself in a medically induced coma to wake up in the springtime?” A couple quick google searches later and the answer appears to be a resounding “no”. But where some people see a “no” and resign themselves to another 10 weeks of cold short days, others turn that “no” into a business opportunity. Long story short “Nick’s Medically Induced Time Travel Incorporated” is now actively seeking Series A financing.
Why am I telling this story? It’s more than just a sales pitch for an exciting, ethically questionable, business venture, it is an example of how anything is possible if you can envision it. You know what else is possible? Creating sophisticated tools and automation to do your day to day job at your company by using the publicly available APIs for all the software your company uses. Software like Git, Jira, Jenkins, Confluence and more all have APIs that allow you to do anything a user would do, but programmatically. Think of how much of your day is spent updating stories, documentation, and checking for changes. Only a few minutes at a time, but that context switch can rob you of hours of productivity (or well earned slacking) each week.
So this Thursday the 25th of January come on down to the West Denver Test Engineering Meetup hosted at the esteemed HomeAdvisor headquarters. Where we will be giving an overview of the various APIs for common tools and some examples of how to use them. But more importantly we will talk about what you can build with these, and how you can integrate them into your toolset. Just knowing it’s possible will open a world of opportunities and you may find you never have to say “no” again. Unless you want to.
Follow the link below for all the exciting details. Food and beverages will be provided and all are welcome!

7yOh, how I wish I could be there. Alas, I get to spend the evening discussing water bills and architectural violations at an HOA board meeting instead. Break a leg, Knick.

7yDo you have any plans to incorporate bidirectional time travel? Or is that not until Series C funding?
