‘Paying it Forward’ -Recruitment Opportunities in the GCC
‘Paying it Forward’ is a concept I have always been an advocate of. In essence it is an expression for describing the beneficiary of a good deed repaying the kindness to others instead of to the original benefactor. The concept is old, but still as relevant to date as ever. I have been extremely fortunate throughout my career (and personal life) that many people have undertaken selfless good deeds for which I will be forever grateful. With this in mind and the forthcoming advent of Ramadan, a time for reflection and giving back, I am conscious that despite a recent upturn in the industry many people still find themselves out of work. Against the backdrop of one of the most challenging times in recent history I can completely empathise with those who have been impacted by factors outside of their control
On a positive note I also see a number of vacancies being advertised alongside several contacts within my network reaching out to see if I know of anyone suitable for a particular role.
Call it fate or opportunity knocking very lightly, I appreciate my position as a ‘facilitator’ in this instance and feel compelled to take action. To this end I am delighted to announce that EIC will be hosting a "free to attend" webinar for all potential job seekers at 1300-1430hrs (UAE Time) on Tuesday 13th April allowing you to hear first-hand from several major recruitment agencies in the GCC, including NES Fircroft, Orion Group, iPS Powerful People and Xergy. Each organisation will explain how to register with them whilst highlighting a selection of active vacancies at present. We will also offer up an opportunity for attendees to participate in a question and answer session whilst hosting a 'speedy networking' session for those wishing to connecting you directly to several recruiters.
Should any companies wish to let me know of any vacancies that they currently have in the region, please feel free to pass them on to me and we can incorporate these into the webinar and ‘pay it forward’ together.

I appreciate that there is no silver bullet in this case and this certainly does not see me transition into a different career which I am happy to leave firmly in the hands of the experts, however if the aforementioned event succeeds in securing only one person a job I will view this as a real achievement, where who knows the successful applicant may be inspired to undertake a similar initiative in future, maintaining the true ethos of ‘paying it forward’.
