The Poverty of the Mind
They have everything—health, wealth, a loving family, even surplus. And yet, something gnaws at them.
They find faults in others. They belittle to feel superior. They elevate themselves not through growth—but by shrinking those around them.
This, to me, is the true poverty of the mind.
It’s not about lacking resources. It’s about lacking richness within.
I once worked with a senior executive who had achieved every external marker of success. But in meetings, he constantly cut others off. His comments dripped with sarcasm. Junior colleagues feared him. Not because he was demanding—but because he was empty.
He carried a hunger that success couldn’t feed.
Here’s what I’ve observed:
Signs of a Poverty-Stricken Mind:

Such a mind doesn’t need more advice. It needs more awareness.
How do we cultivate inner abundance?

What helped me was learning that strength doesn’t come from towering over others—it comes from standing grounded, with open arms.
We can build richer minds. But only if we first notice where we are poor.
Who in your life embodies a wealthy mind? And what can you learn from them today?

4moHiren Doshi According to me – Agile begins with mindset, not just methods. A wealthy mind fosters psychological safety, respect, and collaboration core pillars of agility. Without inner richness, even the best frameworks fail. Let's lead with abundance, not authority. Thanks for sharing Punit Doshi
