Putting hybrid engagement into practice

Putting hybrid engagement into practice

Hi there,

Making sure the pool of residents you’re engaging is diverse and representative of your community at large is critical: for generating fresh ideas, ensuring buy-in, and developing policy that serves the whole community.

This might mean extending your range of engagement methods and communications strategy to reach more underheard groups – youth, the elderly, or people who communicate in a language other than your default.

Offering engagement methods that serve a diverse range of groups doesn’t have to be a headache – hundreds of participation practitioners are already using our hybrid engagement guide, filled with tried-and-true tips for diverse, representative engagement. Download your copy below.

Inspiration: Including children’s perspectives in Finland

Article content

In Finland, the city of Lahti runs an annual participatory budgeting exercise. Of the 900 submissions received this year, almost half were from children.
