Design a Custom Engine Mount with QUICKSURFACE + SOLIDWORKS
Our latest video tutorial walks you step by step through the process of creating a custom engine mount/bracket for a unique engine swap project. With the QUICKSURFACE plugin for SOLIDWORKS, you’ll learn how to turn 3D scans of the engine block and chassis mounting points into a precise sheet metal 3D model — ready to go straight into manufacturing.
Whether you’re tackling a full engine swap or building custom mounts from scratch, this workflow guarantees accuracy, perfect fitment, and saves you valuable time in your project.
Here’s what you’ll see in the video:

Workshop - Reverse Engineering of an Industrial Part
In September, we hosted a free, beginner-friendly workshop led by one of our QUICKSURFACE Lead Engineers. Participants learned the fundamentals of 3D reverse engineering, from importing and evaluating scan data to following a clear, step-by-step workflow for rebuilding an industrial part. This hands-on session showed just how easy it is to go from raw 3D scans to accurate, editable CAD models.
