Reflecting on Four Years of Coaching Service
Hello LinkedIn community,
Today marks exactly four years since I started my business, Tripitakka Consulting, and I am taking this moment to reflect on the journey. As I look back, I am filled with gratitude and excitement for the transformative experiences and profound connections I’ve made along the way. Coaching has not only allowed me to guide others but also to continually evolve and grow myself.
🔹 The Journey:
Over these years, I’ve had the privilege to work with more than 150 individual clients, helping them navigate their personal and professional paths. Through Tripitakka, I've had the honor of working with esteemed clients such as WPP , S4 Capital Group , Monks , TotallyAwesome , Omnicom Media Group , NP Digital among others. Each experience has enriched my understanding and approach to coaching and team dynamics.
Starting my own practice was no small feat. The journey was filled with challenges and moments of doubt, but it was the unwavering support of the coaching community that made it possible. Their guidance, encouragement, and insights were instrumental in helping me overcome obstacles and build a successful practice.
🔹 Expanding Horizons:
When I started this coaching practice, my primary aim was to help individuals in the creative and media industries. However, as I progressed, I found myself increasingly working with professionals from adtech, martech, and various other industries. This expansion was both organic and intentional, driven by the need for effective coaching across different sectors and the unique challenges they present.
🔹 Recent Developments:
Now that I’ve completed my fourth year and renewed my International Coaching Federation PCC accreditation for another two years, I’ve also evolved my coaching practice to include leadership workshops focused on team dynamics. This feels like the right time to delve deeper into this area, providing more comprehensive support to teams and leaders. Additionally, I’ve started to realize the power of coaching assessments for leadership recruitment, a rapidly expanding facet of my practice that is proving invaluable for identifying and nurturing leadership potential.
🔹 Industry Challenges:
It's been particularly tough in the creative and media industry lately, with many individuals facing redundancy and job insecurity. The current state of the industry has led to significant upheavals, making it more important than ever for professionals to adapt and find new pathways to success. Despite these challenges, the resilience and creativity of those within the industry continue to inspire me.
🔹 Lessons Learned:
Embracing Challenges: One of the key insights I've gained is the importance of addressing potentially negative or painful interactions head-on, rather than avoiding them. This approach has led to more authentic and productive coaching sessions.
Active Listening: My tendency to think quickly and jump between topics has sometimes been a challenge. By contracting with my coachees to slow down and fully explore each issue, I've been able to enhance the depth and impact of our sessions.
Sustained Focus: I've learned to avoid the temptation of bringing new issues to every session without fully following through on previous ones. Connecting issues from one session to the next has been key to ensuring meaningful progress.
Creating the Right Environment: Recognizing the impact of external stimuli, I’ve become mindful of choosing environments that balance stimulation and focus, ensuring that coaching sessions are productive and engaging. Walking in the Botanic Gardens has become a particular favorite, providing a serene and stimulating backdrop for deep, reflective conversations.
Balancing Positivity and Reality: While I naturally gravitate towards positive and exciting interactions, I've learned the value of also delving into uncomfortable or unpleasant topics when necessary. This balance has been crucial for authentic growth and development.
🔹 The Support of the Coaching Community:
The coaching community played a crucial role in my journey. They provided a space where I could talk through my challenges, share my experiences, and receive constructive feedback. Their support helped me build confidence and develop effective strategies for my practice. Whether it was through formal coaching relationships or informal mentoring, their contributions were invaluable.
🔹 The Impact:
Through these experiences, I’ve helped individuals and teams achieve their goals. The certifications I've attained, including PCC from the ICF and @iEQ9 Enneagram Practitioner, have further equipped me to provide high-quality coaching and facilitation.
🔹 Looking Ahead:
As I continue this journey, my focus remains on fostering self-awareness, effective communication, and strong team dynamics. The Integrative Enneagram Solutions iEQ9 system has been an invaluable tool in this process, helping me and my coachees understand our core motivations and behaviors deeply.
Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this incredible journey. I look forward to many more years of growth, learning, and impactful coaching.
