Why are we here today??

Friends, we think so much about so many things but do we

really succeed in every purpose? Of course not!

Today I am going to discuss with you all the seven pillars of Business.

A strong foundation is a key to any successful business. Your vision your commitment your purpose all form the all-important pillars of an organization, the most essential part of any building.

In Chanakya's ground-breaking Arthashastra, Chanakya lists the seven pillars of an organization.

"The king, the minister, the country, the fortified city, the Treasury, the army, and the Ally are the constituent elements of the state."

let's now take a closer look at each of them.

1. Swami - स्वामी (The king) Leader:

All great organizations have great leaders. The leader is the visionary, the captain, the man who guides the organization. In today's corporate world we call him the Chairman, Director, CEO, etc. Without him, the organization will lose direction.

2. Amatya - अमात्य (Minister) the manager:

The manager is the person who runs the show- the second-in-command in the organization. He is also the person who can depend upon in the absence of the leader. He is the man who is always in action. An extraordinary leader and an efficient manager together bring into existence a remarkable organization.

3. Janapada - जनपद (The country) Market/ client/ customer.

No business can exists without its market capitalization, it's clients, and customers. The market is the area of your operation. The place from where you get your revenue and cash flow. You dominate these territory and would like to maintain your monopoly over the segment.

4. Durga - दुर्ग (the fortified city) head office:

You need a control tower, a place where all plans and strategies are made. It's from here that your central administrative work is carried out. It's the nucleus and the center of any organization.

5. Kosha - कोश (the Treasury):

Finance is an extremely important resource. It is the backbone of any business. A strong and well-managed Treasury is at the heart of any organization. Your Treasury is also your financial hub.

6. Danda - दण्ड (The Army) the team:

When we go to the war, we need a well-equipped and trained Army. The army consists your team members. Those who are ready to fight for the organization. The salesman, the accountant, the driver, the peon - all of them add to your team.

7. Mitra - मित्र (The Ally) Friend/ consultant:

Chanakya always says "Never fight a battle alone, take a friend along." In life, yo should have a friend who is just like you. Being in the same boat, he can identify with you and stay close if you need help. He is the one you can depend upon when problems arise. After all, a friend in need is a friend indeed.

Look at these seven pillars. Only when these are built into the fand strong sections can the organization shoulder any responsibility and face all challenges.
