Stonehenge Capital Announces $2.2 million Investment in the Shaquille O’Neal Foundation and Boys & Girls Club of Southern Nevada
Stonehenge Capital (Stonehenge) invested $2.2 million New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) investment to the The Shaquille O'Neal Foundation for the development of the Shaquille O’Neal Youth Complex a 33,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility—estimated at $24 million in the heart of Clark County.
The Complex will be operated by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada and Communities In School Southern Nevada. The campus will feature an early childhood center, 54,000 square-foot multi-sports field sponsored by the Las Vegas Raiders, Mixed Martial Arts & boxing center sponsored by UFC, and CIS Alumni Center for mentoring, job training, and leadership development—made possible in part by the Elaine P. Wynn & Family Foundation. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Neighborhood Office will be located onsite to enhance public safety and foster community engagement.
The investment will support wraparound programming for over 2000 youth ages 3 to 18. While addressing the acute shortage of licensed childcare providers in Clark County, where 75% of children under 5 lack access to care, the project’s impact goes beyond early childhood. It will create 10 new full-time jobs, retain 37 existing jobs, and provide access to after-school and summer programs focused on academic achievement, character development, healthy lifestyles, and career readiness.
U.S. Bancorp Impact Finance served as the state NMTC investor for the project. Additional NMTC allocations were provided by Central States Development Partners, Prestamos CDFI, Five Points Community Capital, Urban Action Community Development, Consortium America, Brownfield Revitalization, Petros Community Impact Fund, Pacesetter CDE, and National Community Fund I.
