Sustainable Excellence with Simone Ubertino, Luxury Textile Platform Marketing & Communication Manager
How important is it for #sustainability to be an integral part of a company's daily routine?
For the brand founded by Ermenegildo Zegna more than a hundred years ago, sustainability plays a key role.
Every person within the Group agrees that the founder's ethos is reflected in their daily work. The need to pursue increasingly sustainable high-quality textile processing techniques and seek more efficient solutions along the entire production line has been a priority for the Group from the earliest days.
Being part of the Zegna family and working on the present and future projects of a company that has always had a green and environmentally conscious beating heart, certainly please Simone Ubertino, Luxury Textile Platform Marketing & Communication Manager.
Zegna Luxury Textile Platform
Zegna has created a network of high-class workshops unique in the world.
A symbol of Zegna's sustainable ethos, the Luxury Textile Platform was born by acquiring over the years historic Italian companies, each specializing in a distinct product segment. It is a true luxury tailoring and textile workshop witnessing the excellence of Made in Italy.
The main purpose of the Zegna Luxury Textile Platform is to produce fabrics of the highest quality while safeguarding the uniqueness of the Italian supply chain in the name of craftsmanship.
According to Simone, the fabric is the origin and superpower of the Zegna Group, while the obsession with the best materials is part of the brand's DNA.
The role Simone plays leads him to make visible the invisible, elevating the legendary ingredient, the fabric, to another level. Although he works in the PR & communication office, his desk is always full of raw wool, yarns, and fabrics of all sorts.
Sustainable ethos and technical innovation
What makes the Luxury Textile Platform project unique?
It is a project about savoir-faire, genius loci, community, and traceability - Simone says:
'It’s about knowing and celebrating the 500 hands behind the scenes of the garments we offer to our customers.'
Is this not the very apex of sustainable ethos?
And isn't this the best way to pay tribute to the founder, to pursue with dedication and perseverance the best projects that aim to give back to the world what it offers?
Weaving the future
For everyone involved, the #Zegna name is synonymous with unparalleled manufacturing skills, forward-looking creativity, and #sustainableinnovation.
Simone feels like an ambassador, creating connections, opportunities, and awareness among the different souls of the Group.
Through his small daily contribution, he and all his colleagues know they are weaving the Zegna fabric toward a more sustainable future, in line with the values that have made history.
Zegna counts on people capable of weaving the dreams of tomorrow, improving and optimizing manufacturing processes day by day, and always keeping in mind the value of a true relationship with nature.
