The Tech Download - September 2025
From AI agents boosting productivity to sustainable PCs and even flying cars, In September we delivered breakthroughs worth knowing about. Here are the highlights. 👇️
AI isn't all hype. It’s reshaping how businesses and communities get things done.
With Meta’s help, AI agents are enhancing productivity, helping companies compete and thrive. On the infrastructure side, the Dell PowerEdge XE7740, now powered by Intel Gaudi 3 AI accelerators, delivers massive performance while fitting into existing air-cooled racks. ❄️
Efficiency is also key 🗝️. With PowerScale + NVIDIA, organizations like yours get certified AI performance with a smaller footprint and lower energy draw, bridging the gap between performance and sustainability. Our VP of Product Marketing, David Noy shares the latest details.
AI works best when it understands people. Together with NAVER Cloud , we’re advancing Sovereign AI that reflects cultural nuances in South Korea. In Philadelphia, our SVP of Corporate Affairs, Jennifer "JJ" Davis stopped by Hopeworks to see how young professionals are gaining hands-on AI experience from interview prep to advanced model deployment. On the security front, we’ve teamed up with Cohere to help enterprises deploy AI solutions on-prem, ensuring data privacy and speed at scale.
Looking ahead, Dell CTO and Chief AI Officer John Roese shared why traditional cloud strategies won’t cut it for modern AI. And if flying cars sound futuristic, think again. In Australia, AI is already enabling smooth shared control of multicopters. Check out John’s conversation with Airspeeder CEO Matthew Pearson 🚁.
Our AI PCs with Windows 11 are designed with you in mind. With repairable, reusable and recyclable components, it’s easier than ever to extend the life of your device ♻️. And whether it’s a class presentation or a big client meeting, AI tools in our new PCs help you stay polished, even under pressure.
Accessories are stepping up too. We unboxed 📦 the Dell Pro Plus Wireless Speakerphone, custom built for crystal-clear calls. Our very own Jessica P. also reviewed the latest SP325 Wired Speakerphone, Pro Max 16 Laptop and UltraSharp 27 4K Monitor. On Instagram, fans love the Dell 27 Plus 4K Monitor, and the new UltraSharp 4K Webcam delivers ultra clear video for every call.
Folks at Dell like to think about AI. A lot. The rate of change, use cases and the tools of the trade are all fair game for a lively discussion. When it comes to building the perfect data center, our director of technical marketing engineering, Seamus Jones has plenty of thoughts. Read on to see what he has to say. ⬇️
From Latency to Light: Datacenter Power Savings
Let’s be honest. AI infrastructure is evolving fast, and if you're still relying on yesterday’s server architectures, you might be falling behind. At Dell Technologies, we’ve been working on something that doesn’t just keep up, it leaps ahead. We’re talking about the Dell PowerEdge XE7745 and XE7740 servers, now equipped with NVIDIA’s RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell GPUs. And the performance gains with power savings? They’re not incremental, they’re exponential.
The Challenge: Scaling AI Without Compromise
As AI models grow and become more complex, the infrastructure supporting them needs to do more than just deliver raw performance. It needs to be efficient, scalable, and flexible. But many organizations are hitting walls:
These are real challenges, and they’re holding back innovation.
The Combo – Saving Power & Lighting up the Night
The XE7745 (AMD EPYC) and XE7740 (Intel Xeon) are 4U rack servers designed for high-performance AI workloads that are both energy efficient and provide flexible GPU options for up to 8 x NVIDIA RTX Pro 6000 GPUs. This power efficient server, paired with the RTX Pro 6000 GPUs, reduces datacenter energy demands while delivering strong AI performance. This scalable server design lets customers adjust to their needs efficiently thus saving about 5 kWh per hour as compared to legacy AI platforms. That's enough energy saved to light up a Friday Night high school football field with bleachers buzzing, band playing and the whole town watching.
Organizations consider performance per watt and per dollar to make informed decisions about hardware investments, energy costs, and sustainability goals.
In a head-to-head lab comparison, Dell's new PowerEdge XE7745 servers with NVIDIA RTX Pro 6000 PCIe GPUs were tested against the PowerEdge XE9680 servers, which use older H100 NVL GPUs. The results revealed that the new XE7745 setup is nearly five times faster in processing speed and 876% more energy efficient per watt. Additionally, it can handle eight times more concurrent users and delivers a 63% faster response time when compared to legacy alternative PCIe based hardware.
Why It Matters
These numbers represent tangible improvements in how quickly teams can adopt AI. Think about customer service bots that respond instantly and scale effortlessly, or legal and finance teams that can summarize documents in real time. Marketing and development groups benefit too, generating content and code whenever they need it. Even researchers can run simulations and analytics without hitting performance bottlenecks.
And with the XE7745’s air-cooled 4U chassis, you’re getting maximum GPU density without needing complex or exotic cooling systems. It’s built to perform, but also to protect. Your data stays secure thanks to enterprise-grade safeguards baked right into the hardware.
Final Thoughts
If you’re looking to scale AI across your organization, reduce power costs, and future-proof your infrastructure, this combo is worth a serious look. The XE7745 and XE7740 with RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell GPUs deliver the holy grail of critical performance per watt. Executing the perfect blend of AI efficiency & model performance in a flexible form factor.

4dFor 25 years, I have recommended Dell to my clients, most of whom are local governments. However, recently one of my clients received merchandise from Dell which my client did NOT order, and sent a $269 invoice to my client (who paid the invoice). Dell refuses to remedy the situation. As a result, I am working with my clients to CANCEL their Dell accounts. Further, I am working with my clients to open accounts with HP.
September was packed with innovation! From AI agents transforming workflows to sustainable tech and futuristic mobility, it’s exciting to see how quickly the future is arriving. Can’t wait to see what October brings! 🚀

1wI've had a deeply frustrating experience with @Dell and their so-called Premium Support over the past 4+ months. My Alienware Aurora system has been plagued by thermal issues (CPU running at 95°C, front fan locked below 34%), and despite multiple part replacements — CPU, GPU, motherboard, fans, heatsink — the issue remains unresolved. I’ve spent dozens of hours on calls, remote sessions, OS reinstalls, depot and onsite repairs — and still, no fix. Worse, I've been denied escalation, received conflicting guidance, and had to record my own video evidence just to keep things moving. At this point, there is nothing left to replace, and I’ve lost valuable time I’ll never get back. I'm now asking Dell to do the right thing: either provide a new, upgraded system or issue a full refund. This isn’t just about hardware — it’s about respecting the customer’s time and honoring the promise of support. Here is my full reddit post expressing my concerns: https://www.reddit.com/r/Dell/comments/1nvinnd/my_dell_premium_support_nightmare_4_months_0_fixes/ Dell Technologies
