Test Engineering Meetup For May!!
Did you know there is a theory out there that if humankind were ever to create a perfect artificial simulation of the universe that the odds that we ourselves are part of a similar simulation skyrocket to nearly 100%? Fascinating stuff to be sure, but why does everything have to be so binary? (pun sort of intended) Why does it have to be either we all are in a simulation or we are not. What I would like to posit is: what if only some of us are simulated? If you are going to choose a thought experiment I think the partial simulation one has much more potential. Having a boring day at the office or stuck in traffic? Take a moment and look around and wonder who is real and who isn’t.
“But Nick”, I hear you asking, “Isn’t that just mental illness?”. If its not, tt sure is a symptom, which is why it has to stay firmly in the realm of thought experiment. For goodness sake don’t go around accusing people of being artificial! Unless, of course, you are on a internet forum of some sort. On the internet accusing strangers of being robots is just participating in the culture of our time.
Let’s do one more thought experiment. Let’s imagine that this Thursday that you attend the West Denver Test Engineering Meetup where the topic is ‘Building 2 automation frameworks in under 60 minutes’. Given by newcomer to the industry Chris Atkinson. We could logically infer that you would come away with some new insights into quick ways to spin up automation in a pinch, as well as getting the perspective of someone new to the industry and being able to participate in some great discussion.
Also, pizza.
