UPDATE - JULY 2025
As we enter the summer, it’s the perfect time to look back at some of the highlights from the last couple of months at JLA and to share insights from our booking data across the first half of the year.
What are businesses booking so far in 2025?
We have been analysing our speaker booking data and it reveals a sharp rise in demand for experts in AI, geopolitics, leadership, and high-performance culture. From boardroom strategy to team collaboration, organisations are prioritising speakers who can help them navigate complexity and stay ahead of change.
“Clients aren’t just planning events, they’re planning for the future, and speaker selection is becoming part of how they futureproof their organisations.”- Brogan West, JLA account manager.

New Speaker Showreels
To give you a better sense of how our speakers connect with audiences, we’ve put together a collection of showreels. These short, engaging highlight videos offer a glimpse into each speaker’s style and presence, while also touching on the topics they cover. From leading voices in business and motivation to experts on AI, the economy, geopolitics and leadership, the series features some of our most in-demand names, with new additions arriving regularly.
Rt Hon Nicola Sturgeon MSP
Former First Minister of Scotland
We were delighted to host Nicola Sturgeon, former First Minister of Scotland, at the JLA offices in May. A key figure in both Scottish and UK politics for over a decade, Nicola shared candid reflections on her time in office and beyond.
She spoke about her political journey, the causes that continue to drive her, and what she learned from working with five different Prime Ministers. From leading with conviction and empathy, to handling criticism and public scrutiny, Nicola offered valuable insights, along with a few memorable anecdotes, including an encounter with Donald Trump.
Her memoir Frankly will be published on 14th August.

It’s been a busy - and at times stressful - few months across the industry, with a packed calendar of events. During this time, we’ve published two new Ideas articles on our website, one from innovation management expert Chris Heemskerk, and another, particularly timely, from stress management consultant Alice Law.
Stress isn’t the enemy – it’s a signal. An invitation to listen.
In my twenties, stress was such a constant presence that it became woven into my every day. I didn’t question it, feeling anxious, distracted, overwhelmed, low in mood, racing thoughts – it was simply the way I operated during a prolonged period of high stress in my life. But over time, I learned that even in moments of deep challenge or loss, our nervous system can be reset. It can be soothed. It can even become a guide, showing us exactly what needs our attention to not just perform better, but to live better too. Read the full article by Alice here.
How to Build a World-Class Innovation Culture
Throughout my career at Google, I’ve come to realise that innovation isn’t born in a vacuum. It doesn’t happen just because someone in the corner office says it’s important or because a team launches a shiny new product.
True innovation takes root in the culture of a company – in the way people think, collaborate, and take risks together. That’s why building a world-class innovation culture is less about slogans and more about daily habits, leadership choices, and shared beliefs. Read the full article by Chris here.
