WA: Wrongfully Fired After Falling Victim to Botched Investigation, City Manager Settles with City

In Washington, the state highway patrol botched an investigation that looked into allegation involving the Pullman police chief. Things went awry when investigators mistakenly identified or suggested that the city manager was involved in the scandal. Then it got even more bizarre when the city council claimed the city manager had quit after they placed him on leave even though he adamantly stated he had not resigned.
