No🎓 Inspiring the Next Generation of Project Professionals! This evening, a few of our APM Thames Valley Network volunteers had the pleasure of visiting University of Reading for an engaging session with students, hosted by Prof Shu-Ling Lu 🎙️The discussion focused on the APM journey — from Student Member to Fellow Member — and the many benefits of joining the Association for Project Management . Our fantastic speakers, volunteer Ioana Alexandra Tudor (MAPM) and APM Member Machi Ma shared their personal stories of how they’ve grown their careers in project management, progressed through the APM PMQ qualification, and how becoming APM Members has had a massively positive impact on their professional development and opportunities. 💬 The students asked some thought-provoking questions about career paths, required skills, and real-world project challenges — showing curiosity and enthusiasm for the profession. Key takeaways from Association for Project Management #WiLM conference. Very inspiring speakers and message: “Feel the fear and do it anyway”
“Feel the fear and do it anyway.” At the APM #WiPM Conference, our closing keynote speaker, Dr Jo Salter MBE – the UK’s first female fast-jet pilot – reminded us that: 🚀 Resilience is a muscle — the more you use it, the stronger it gets. 🧠 Negative thoughts can be rewired into empowering ones. 💡 Growth only happens when we get comfortable with discomfort. 🙌 True leadership is about leaving a legacy of courage and confidence. Her stories — from RAF escape & evasion training to saying yes to once-in-a-lifetime opportunities — were a powerful reminder: when opportunity knocks, step up… even if you don’t feel ready. #Leadership #Resilience #Courage #Inspiration #Womeninprojectmanagement

Reflecting on our work throughout the financial year 2024-2025, collaboration has been at the heart of everything we have achieved. Here are some of our accomplishments: ✅ We launched a new, more accessible Project Management Qualification. ✅ We introduced a clearer pathway to Chartered Project Professional status in collaboration with PMI. ✅ We established a new All-Party Parliamentary Group to strengthen our voice in government. ✅ We created more opportunities for the community to connect, learn, and share experiences. We take pride in the growing recognition of project success and the positive conversations shaping our profession. This progress is all thanks to you, our members, who made it possible. Leadership isn't about perfection. It's about intention. In high-pressure project environments, ethics and morality don’t always align. The MERI model helped Richard Graham lead with clarity.
