#UK: Success for taxpayer in judicial review On the face of it, this case concerns a procedural question – namely, whether HMRC must follow their public written guidance. In this instance, that guidance related to the administrative requirements for recovering input tax. The judgment touches, however, on much broader concerns. It provides insight into when judicial review is appropriate (and can succeed), the principles that govern a supplier’s right to deduct input tax, and how parties should approach contradictory or ambiguous HMRC guidance. #CEE: Last week, at the Annual Get-Together (AGT) 2025 in Vienna, the RRH Tax PAG had the pleasure of joining an inspiring guest session with colleagues from the Real Estate & Construction PAG, followed by a joint session with the Employment PAG. We were thrilled to hear from Gregor Famira, Neža Vončina, Tamara Jelić Kazić, Ana-Marija Skoko and Maja Marcelić, who shared valuable insights from both tax and real estate perspectives — highlighting market trends and strategic developments shaping the field. The collaborative tax and employment session sparked equally engaging discussions, led by Tamara Jelić Kazić and Thomas Aspalter for tax, alongside Mia Kalajdzicžić and Dragana Bajicć from employment. A special thanks goes to Mirta Klaić, whose talk seamlessly tied together the key themes across both areas. Cross-PAG exchanges like these strengthen #collaboration, spark new ideas, and deepen our collective expertise across the firm. Already looking forward to the next one! #CMSlaw #Tax #AGT2025 CMS Tax Group
