Last week's #WorldFoodDay reminded us why we do what we do, and this year's theme, "Hand in Hand for Better Food and a Better Future," captures the heart of our work perfectly. At our solar PV site for QMM Mine in Madagascar, a community food garden, run by local company Alona Agriculture and Pierre-Yves MACE, is demonstrating how clean energy and sustainable agriculture can coexist and nourish communities in the process. Through the Ehoala Solar Park Food Garden, our partners are cultivating over 4,800 m² of vegetables while nurturing a nursery of 250,000 fruit and tropical trees. What began as a pilot now feeds local families, supplies nearby restaurants with fresh, high-quality produce, and empowers community members, many of whom are learning to farm for the first time. Beyond food, the project: - Trains local residents in agricultural skills - Creates local income loops by sourcing compost and organic materials from the community - Uses solar panels to collect water, provide shade, and create favorable growing conditions This initiative thrives thanks to our incredible partners. CEFFEL, a local farming association from Antsirabe, has provided invaluable agricultural training and ongoing support. FOFIFA, a tropical plant research institute, is helping us implement specialty crops, including 100,000 coffee and 100,000 cacao trees. Ferris Engineering continues to champion this initiative with essential technical equipment and financial backing. This is what "hand in hand" looks like in practice — innovation, sustainability, and collaboration. #WorldFoodDay #Sustainability

  • We are very excited to be recognized in this year's AFSIA (Africa Solar Industry Association) award nominations for Solar Company of the Year, alongside such good company! In 2025, we have: - Signed the first solar/BESS baseload project in sub-Saharan Africa, for a 30 MW dispatchable power system in the DRC - Provided the energy for Sierra Leone's first-ever 5G network - Built Madagascar's first wind farm ... and many other developments that we're not yet able to share, but will soon! Do you think that makes us the African Solar Company of the Year? We do. Vote here: https://lnkd.in/dfabbWXc

  • What will the energy transition mean for geopolitics? In his TED Talk, CrossBoundary Energy Managing Partner Matt Tilleard explains what makes this transition fundamentally different from others that came before it (wood ➡️ coal ➡️ oil). Why? This transition is based on technology, not fuel. That means no one superpower will have a monopoly on energy: systems will be distributed, circular, interchangeable — and abundant. Watch Matt's talk to learn more: https://lnkd.in/dn4Qhbyu

  • Nigeria's telecoms industry consumes an estimated >40 million litres of diesel every month just to keep networks running. For a country whose economic growth is driven in large part by its digital and creative economy, this fuel dependency creates both a financial burden and a sustainability challenge. Renewable energy solutions offer an alternative that's cleaner, more cost-effective, and insulates the sector from fuel price volatility. ⚡ Osarieme Anita Omonuwa MCIArb, CIPP/E, ICC, CSSGB™ represented CrossBoundary Energy at the #GSMA Nigeria Energy/Digitisation Summit in Abuja. She joined key public and private sector stakeholders to discuss accelerating the renewable energy transition of Nigeria's telecom sector while also expanding energy access. Sessions explored key themes, including: ✅ Bridging data gaps between energy and telecoms infrastructure ✅ Strengthening digital infrastructure to support energy systems ✅ Expanding energy access through sector collaboration As telecoms continue to drive Nigeria's economic growth, accelerating the shift to renewable energy will be catalytic for the country's digital future and energy access.

Proud moment for us at Enetek Power! Together with CrossBoundary Energy, our power systems are playing a key role in enabling Sierra Leone’s first 5G rollout—powered by renewable energy. The hybrid power system deployed in Freetown includes: ✔️ 30.72 kWp PV array ✔️ 24 kW rectifier ✔️ 25.6 kW solar converters ✔️ 84 kWh LFP battery ✔️ 22 kVA generator ✔️ All seamlessly managed by the Enetek SMU01 controller The system is designed to optimize energy use—always prioritizing solar and battery resources, and only using the generator when absolutely necessary. This approach minimizes fossil fuel consumption while still ensuring exceptional availability above 99.9% for critical telecom operations. It is a living proof that reliable telecom infrastructure can be both sustainable and efficient. 5G is more than just speed—it’s a foundation for digital inclusion, smart cities, remote healthcare, and IoT-driven businesses. We’re proud that Enetek’s technology is powering this transformation in Sierra Leone. #5G #Telecom #RenewableEnergy #HybridPower #EnetekPower #Enetek #CrossBoundary #Connectivity #Africa #SierraLeone #Freetown

Many people are getting this energy transition wrong And the reason they are getting it wrong is very understandable. They are looking at it wearing old, outdated Fuel tinted glasses. These glasses have served policy makers well for over a century. But this is NOT another transition to a new Fuel. It’s a transition to Technology. And that changes everything. Unlike a Fuel, Technology is: less existential, more abundant, more circular and more fungible. Combined, these things mean that demand for the inputs into this transition is far more elastic. It won’t be possible to create OPEC-style cartels for renewables. And those who try are wasting their time. In this transition, it will matter much less what you happen to have underground within your borders. What WILL matter is whether you identify your comparative advantages and invent, extract, build and manufacture the products that we all need as part of this transition. TED Conferences gave me a chance to explain this idea to the world. I’m pretty confident I’m mostly right on this thesis. But I am also aware that, like everyone, I am probably somewhat wrong as well. I’d appreciate you helping me advance my thinking by pointing out where you think I’ve missed something!
