Minerals and metals are essential for economic development, growth, job creation, and energy access. During the #WBGMeetings, Mohamed Gouled, IFC VP of Industries, and Jérôme Grivet, Deputy CEO of Credit Agricole S.A. marked an important milestone in the IFC - International Finance Corporation and Crédit Agricole CIB partnership. Through a Significant Risk Transfer structure covering a $2 billion portfolio, IFC will provide a $95 million financial guarantee to Credit Agricole CIB that will help originate new trade finance commitments for emerging markets over the next several years. This innovative structure frees up capital that Crédit Agricole CIB can redeploy and creates greater opportunities for businesses in developing countries, fostering economic growth and job creation. 🌍 Unlocking Opportunities for MSMEs in #Mozambique! 🌟 While MSMEs account for around 97% of all firms in Mozambique, just 10% have a bank loan or line of credit. With an estimated financing gap of $1.9 billion, #MSMEs in Mozambique face steep barriers in accessing the resources they need to grow. Despite the critical role they play in the economy, microenterprises, agriculture, and women-owned businesses are especially credit constrained. To address this gap, IFC - International Finance Corporation is issuing a 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗟𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗚𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆.
