  • BAPI vs BADI Which One Should You Really Use? If you’re customizing SAP, this is your fork in the road. Both BAPI and BADI can change how your system behaves. But their purpose? Totally different. 1. BAPI: The Bridge to the Outside World - Definition: Business Application Programming Interface - Purpose: Enables communication between SAP and external systems. - Best For: Integration and automation use cases. ✅ Use it when a third-party system (say, a procurement app) needs to create or update data in SAP. ✅ Think: automating purchase orders from non-SAP tools, without touching core code. In short: BAPI = External integration. It connects SAP to the world. 2.
