As communities grapple with #PFAS contamination in groundwater, the City of Dayton, Ohio, has shown that proactive steps can secure sustainable water supplies. Tetra Tech is working with the City to complete what will be the largest, dedicated PFAS treatment facility in the United States to address PFAS contamination from legacy sources. The facility is part of comprehensive water system improvements to provide clean drinking water to more than 430,000 residents across two counties. In partnership with the City, our water treatment experts are performing planning and engineering evaluations to identify an innovative and cost-effective treatment system at the 96 million gallons per day Ottawa Water Treatment Plant. Learn how this project will provide safe drinking water to the Dayton region: https://hubs.la/Q03j5wZD0. #LeadingWithScience Tetra Tech Water

Congratulations to our very own Lera Henderson on being named Chapter President of the Mayfield College of Engineering Alumni Association! 🎉 At Tetra Tech, we're proud to support professionals like Lera who are shaping the future of engineering through community and connection.
Introducing your MCOE Alumni Association Chapter President: Lera Henderson What does Tarleton mean to me? To me, Tarleton has always been like family and a home away from home. My time at Tarleton was unique. I was a mother going back to school to pursue my goals to become a Civil Engineer. Being a mom away from a support system in school full time came with its challenges. Every time there was a night class, a daycare holiday, etc. my professors and classmates were always there to support me. I had many presentations and classes where I had to bring my daughter along. Whether it was her doing puzzles on the floor in Transportation class trying to answer my professor’s questions or my interesting classroom presentation of her singing Zip-a-dee-doo-dah while I was trying to discreetly shush her from the front of the room, the memories of my time at Tarleton will never fade. I will forever and always be beyond grateful for each and every moment. It was why I knew I wanted to help start the alumni chapter for the Mayfield College of Engineering. Everyone who has ever attended Tarleton has their own story to tell and has always remembered their time fondly. Tarleton is truly an amazing place and holds a special place in our hearts. I have now been a Tarleton Alumni for 3 years and specialize in water/wastewater design at Tetra Tech [https://www.tetratech.com/] in San Antonio, TX. I have worked on various water/sewer distribution projects and elevated storage tank projects. I am looking forward to continuing to pursue my goals to eventually get my PE license. As challenging as it may seem at times, I encourage every current Tarleton student to continue pushing through school, it IS worth it! My best advice to current students would be to get involved in the engineering programs available and to get to know your professors. You get the most out of your experience when you get out of your comfort zone and take the opportunities to network. My advice to alumni in our chapter is to get involved by joining the Mayfield College of Engineering Alumni Affinity Chapter and help grow the organization. We want to see this chapter grow to reach its full potential and allow that Tarleton family we all felt at school to be available even after graduating. For those of us who felt that in our experience at Tarleton, let’s continue to give back so the current students have a chance to have that same thing. We all remember our time as students and how challenging it can be so let’s help them reach their full potential without the extra stresses that come with school. I appreciate every single one of you and your involvement. Go Texans!
