We are always looking for ways to get involved with the local community and make a positive impact on the environment. Recently, we partnered with @WUSA-TV in Washington, DC to host Recycle Day at Westfield Montgomery and are proud to announce that nearly 10,000 lbs. of electronics were recycled! In addition, we recycled more than 27,000 lbs. of paper – which, according to the EPA, means together we saved: 🌳 234 Trees 🗑 1120.5 Cubic Feet of landfill space 💦 4,950 gallons of water 🏭 825 pounds of CO2 pollutants 🛢 5,225 gallons of oil 💡 143,000 kilowatts of electricity This is just one of the many ways we are making a positive impact. Earlier this year we hosted our annual Good Festival at the Bethesda, MD center celebrating innovations our retailers and partners are making toward a more sustainable future. Programs like Recycle Day at Westfield Montgomery are part of Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield's long-term commitment to sustainability, Better Places. The initiative sets a clear science-based net-zero target on Scopes 1 & 2 by 2030 and on Scopes 1, 2 & 3 by 2050. Happy 60th Westfield Century City! Since 1964, Westfield Century City has been an iconic shopping and entertainment hub and today is one of LA’s premier lifestyle destinations. In honor of its milestone birthday, Westfield Century City threw itself a far-out party taking shoppers back to 1964 with live music from the decades, historic photo ops, and exclusive deals inspired by 1964. Some offers included a 10-cent soda at @Shake Shack, @Peace of Cake’s trio of cakes decorated with custom anniversary logos for $19.64, “throwback flavors” like Butter Pecan (the top ice cream of 1964) for 64 cents at @Hokey Pokey LA, and @Aesop offering the first 64 customers a gift. Westfield Century City was created out of 20th Century Fox studio’s backlot and has gone through many improvements over the years including a two-year, $1 billion remodel competed in 2017. The flagship center combines on-trend fashion brands, award-winning chefs and culinary experiences, headline events and entertainment, and cultural programming – all in one place.
