From the lab to the battlefield: testing unmanned systems where it really matters. The European Defence Agency’s first Operational Experimentation (OPEX) campaign put UAS and UGV platforms through their paces in real-world military logistics scenarios like delivering ammunition, evacuating wounded soldiers and navigating challenging terrain. Over several weeks at the Italian Army’s Multifunctional Experimentation Centre CEPOLISPE proving ground, drones from Beyond Vision , ALTUS LSA S.A. and Schiebel and ground vehicles from Alisys Robotics , Łukasiewicz – PIAP and ARX Robotics were tested under 130 expert-designed scenarios. The result? Tangible improvements, immediate technology updates and valuable insight into which systems truly perform under operational pressure. 🤝 It’s proof that international cooperation and cross-industry collaboration are the foundation of advancing autonomy.
