🤖🎥 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗩𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗔𝗜’𝘀 𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗔 text-to-video technology, directed by Paul Trillo for indie pop artist Washed Out's new song "The Hardest Part," marks a significant leap in how we conceive and produce visual media. Director Paul Trillo developed a concept involving an infinite zoom through a couple's various life stages without using real actors. He generates scenes directly from detailed narrative descriptions while blending reality with a surreal, dream-like quality and seamlessly transitioning 55 clips/scenes. According to the band, the visuals were designed to match the emotional depth of the song. Links to articles about the process are in the comments. 🤔 What do you think? Does it look very '𝒖𝒏𝒄𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒚 𝒗𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒚' to you or could have it been produced on a sound stage with real actors? Does it carry the "emotional depth" it intended? This pioneering use of AI in filmmaking exemplifies both the potential and the challenges of integrating advanced technologies in creative industries. Here are the key takeaways: — 𝗢𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀: Filmmakers and artists can now bring to life visuals that were previously constrained by budget, physical logistics, and the limitations of traditional special effects. Steven Grotell, design director at DELMAR JEWELERS, offers a perspective on AI I hadn't considered: "AI creates happy accidents, and it's my job to find them." The jewelry industry has embraced AI for efficiency. Automating production, quality control, and customer service. Signet Jewelers saw 50% growth using digital tools. Virtual try-ons boost sales by 250%. These applications focus on optimization and predictable outcomes. Take the "Ornamutations" project: 124 artists contributed images to train an algorithm that creates new jewelry designs. Or consider AI-powered inventory management systems that predict demand patterns, and computer vision tools that detect flaws in gemstone cutting with microscopic precision. But for creative work, Grotell expects AI to surprise him, not solve problems. I think we'll see the same bifurcation happening in creative AI that we're seeing across luxury industries: mass production on one side, artisan craftsmanship on the other. While others use AI for predictable efficiency, professionals like Grotell are positioning themselves as digital artisans, using AI as a tool for discovery rather than automation. This video is cool... but who designed it? The AI? The prompt writer? The 124 artists whose work trained similar algorithms? As more creators embrace AI, these questions will only become more complex. Agree or disagree? Sources: American Gem Society and Rapaport 🎨 Publisher VOGUE CS. I was interviewed this week by Robert Hansen, host of The RSnake Show where we discussed at length the impact of AI on Hollywood. Therefore I thought it wise to test the waters and see where we are today using a GPT tool called Invideo. The emergence of these AI-driven text-to-video GPT tools, represents a significant shift in the landscape of content creation and creates some big questions and challenges to how we currently think, create and collaborate. These are just some top of mind thoughts: AI text-to-video tools lower the barrier to entry for creating ‘high-quality’ content resulting in a . democratization of content creation. This means that individuals and small organizations can potentially produce content that competes with larger, more established entities and could require a rethink of strategies, especially for studios and creators who previously relied on the exclusivity of their production capabilities. The ease and access to these AI-generated content tools raises big questions around trust, authenticity and ethics. As we enter a year where half the planet will vote in elections, how on earth can we ensure trust in content when AI-generated content can manipulate the minds of recipients, especially when dealing with polarizing political issues? Whether we need a framework in content governance and ethics, the reality is it’s here now and we have to face the consequences. One area Robert and I discussed was the question of creativity. As AI becomes more proficient in content creation, there's a growing conversation around the role of human creativity. Will AI replace human creators, or will it serve as a tool to augment human creativity? This is particularly relevant in the entertainment, communications and PR industries. WHile the potential of this technology is still in its nascent phase it will improve. As humans we need to reimagine human creativity and innovation. The reality is that audiences will become more accustomed to AI-generated content. As they do, their expectations may shift. They might seek more personalized, interactive, or immersive experiences. This opens up opportunities for existing content creators to adapt to these evolving preferences. Personally I think we will see a renaissance in live theater and fusion of live meets AI or holographic content. This will be an exciting time ahead as it opens new avenues to storytelling enabling more complex, multi-layered narratives and could lead to more dynamic and impactful storytelling techniques. While jobs will be lost, jobs will be created. No one can predict the future but I believe the best is yet to come. #futureproof #AIinHollywood #RSnakeShow #InvideoGPT #ContentCreationEvolution #DigitalDemocratization #AIvsHumanCreativity #EthicalAI #ArtificialIntelligence
