Everyone uses AI these days. So, what's left to leverage? Your imagination. AI is not plug-and-play. Real advantage comes from creatively applying it to your specific needs. Think beyond the algorithms. They commoditize quickly. Focus instead on unique integrations that others overlook. Let AI amplify your existing strengths through novel combinations. Double down on understanding your customers and delivering tailored experiences. Imagine purposes others miss. Apply AI to uniquely improve real outcomes. This creative edge is the lasting differentiator.

We've heard the refrain that AI is coming for creative jobs. And I get it, change is hard. But creativity is inherently about change. Whether that change is good or bad, helpful or scary depends on how you view it and use it. In my recent article for Fast Company, I see the glass half-full and talk about the remarkable ways creatives can harness AI to transform creativity as we know it. Here’s how future creatives can fuse human ingenuity with technology and open doors to a world of unprecedented capabilities: Collaboration that Amplifies Results: Use AI-generated ideas to brainstorm imaginative journeys and fresh perspectives. Make Time for More Important Work: Streamline routine tasks and problem-solving so teams can channel their energy into higher-level ideation and innovation. Expand Creative Horizons: Build on AI-created content to expand our own canvas of creativity — tap into technologies like virtual reality and augmented reality to unlock new dimensions. Redefine Personalization: Use AI analytics to hyper-personalize creative experiences and craft highly-tailored content that resonates deeply with audiences and creates a lasting impact. Creativity is evolving, and while technology may advance, our humanity — emotions, experiences, and perspectives — will always make the work resonant and meaningful. By leveraging those unique human experiences when using AI, we make a powerful tool even better. Would love to hear your take. https://lnkd.in/gJ-fy5NZ #Creativity #Innovation #AIandCreativity #FutureOfCreativity

After a year of being immersed in Generative AI, I'm convinced it's an amazing time to be a builder in this space. GenAI opens a world of innovation through natural interfaces like text, image, audio, and video. At this moment, we are limited only by our imagination. If you are a builder considering this space, here's what's changing: 1. User Interfaces: We're shifting from traditional buttons/forms to natural interfaces like chat and voice. 🗣️ This is more than a trend; it's a revolution in how we interact with technology, making everything more intuitive and accessible. 2. Generative Capabilities: The ability to create new text, audio, video, and images is transforming content creation. Without delving too deep, it's crucial to recognize the secondary effects this capability unlocks. Imagine effortlessly creating books, podcasts, movies, or music – reshaping our entire content consumption landscape. 📚🎧🎬🎼 3. Tech Convergence: AI's intersection with fields like robotics, materials science and genetics will lead to groundbreaking innovations. These 'Lollapalooza effects' can lead to unexpected and revolutionary developments. 🤖🧬 Key to success in AI? 🚀. I hold a firm belief, now more than ever, that understanding the core technology you're working with is imperative, especially in AI. To truly harness what can be built, one must grasp the mechanics of the technology, stay abreast of its rapid evolution, and let imagination be the guide. #GenerativeAI #productmanagement #UserExperience

Refik Anadol, the artistic engineering genius that embraces AI to create works that are not just seen but practically hallucinated, has the art world asking a question that might come out of a Philp K. Dick novel: "Can a machine with deep learning not just recreate, but actually dream up art?" He's turned The Museum of Modern Art’s massive 140,000 piece art collection into a digital daydream (or, at least, the world's most cultured screensaver), with AI unspooling it into forms that blur the line between familiar art and something wholly new. His work, oscillating between reality and an AI-induced chimera, raises the curtain on an era where computers aren't just tools, but partners in creativity. And it's not just about pretty pictures – Anadol’s AI conjures up everything from coral reefs to entire rainforests, which begs a paradoxical question, "Is the future of understanding nature not in exploring it, but in reimagining it through artificial eyes?" https://lnkd.in/gYpfiD6a

Three imperative pillars for creatives to embrace in the age of AI: 👨💻 Master the Tools - Integrate AI fully into your workflows. Experiment boldly. Fail fast. Learn relentlessly. This tech is here to stay. 👍 Support Your Supporters - Starve the rest. Give your business to companies that empower human creativity while respecting skill and IP. There are good actors out here. 🎨 Level up your imagination - AI will help with execution. Conjure what has never existed and lead us there. Nurture your boldest ideas. Let AI amplify them into the world. Why so urgent? Because the future is unfolding now. We have a brief window to shape how AI can uplift creativity. If we act with care, these tools can help you imagine beyond limits. But if we ignore their implications, our gifts risk being displaced. Let’s master these technologies to serve the highest expression of our ideas. Together, we can lead an AI renaissance - one fueled by empowered human ingenuity, not limited by distrust. Let's shape the future with care, intention and heart. We rise together! How are you thinking about our best way forward? What am I missing? #creativecommunity #aidesign #aiart #laetro

  • Deloitte’s 2024 Human Capital Trends is here, and the chapter on #GenAI and the #imagination deficit resonates. According to the report, while 73% of leaders recognize the importance of imagination, only 37% are doing something to address it. While AI is a valuable tool, it “cannot replicate the curiosity and empathy that fuel imagination and lead to creative invention.”  So, how can organizations help employees cultivate their uniquely human capabilities? We need to find ways to amplify the uniquely human capabilities like curiosity, agility, teaming, divergent thinking, and social and emotional intelligence.   In our roundtable conversation with workforce experience leaders, we found that 69% of leaders believe that AI will help improve creativity to some degree when it is used as a source of new ideas. They believe that AI will enable employees to focus more time and energy on bringing their unique creativity to increase quality of work. In the best scenario, if AI as a creative partner can help us get to a first draft faster, it can help us get to a better final draft. To reinforce this vision, leaders will need to evolve how we measure and celebrate individual creativity and diversity of thought. In my upcoming report based on these recent discussions, we’ll offer a few suggestions for getting started. Here's another favorite statement from the Deloitte report: “Investing in the development of human capabilities doesn’t just build organizational resilience: It improves worker resilience, well-being, and mental health—all important components of human sustainability.” David Mallon Michael Griffiths Susan Cantrell Nic Schobal Williams Matteo Zanza #HumanCapitalTrends #HumanExperience #DeloitteDigital #ElevateHX https://lnkd.in/eyGfEb72

I'm going to say something that might ruffle a few feathers: the creative industry as we know it is dying. And AI is the culprit. But before you start penning my hate mail, hear me out. I don't think this is a bad thing. In fact, I believe AI is going to be the best thing that's ever happened to creativity. Why? Because AI is going to democratize creativity in a way that nothing else has before. It's going to put the power of creation into the hands of anyone with an idea and a keyboard. Don't believe me? Just look at this incredible AI-generated video by Víctor Morón and Jose Hernandez. This is the future of creativity. And it's not coming. It's already here. For too long, the creative industry has been gated by technical skills and big budgets. If you couldn't draw, or shoot video, or code, or afford expensive software and equipment, tough luck. Your ideas didn't matter. But AI changes all that. Suddenly, anyone can be a visual artist, a filmmaker, a designer. All you need is an imagination and a way with words or prompts. That terrifies the old guard. They're scared that AI will replace them and churn out soulless, derivative work. But they're wrong. AI isn't going to replace human creativity. It's going to enhance it. It's going to free us from the drudgery of technical execution and allow us to focus on what really matters: ideas. Think about the explosion of new voices and perspectives we're going to see. People who have always had stories to tell but never had the means to tell them. People like Khaby Lame, who went from factory worker to global superstar thanks to social media. Now imagine that same phenomenon, but turbocharged by AI. Imagine a world where anyone, anywhere, can bring their creative vision to life, no matter their background or resources. That's the world AI is going to create. And it's going to be amazing. Sure, there will be a lot of noise—a lot of mediocre AI-generated content flooding the internet. But there will also be gems—brilliant, innovative works that we couldn't have imagined before. And the cream will rise to the top because, in the end, it's not about the tool. It's about the idea, the execution, and the story behind it. The creative industry isn't dying. It's evolving. Those who embrace AI and learn to use it as a tool for their ideas will thrive. So don't fear the AI revolution. Embrace it because the future of creativity is coming. It’s going to be wild.

Machines can't kill creativity. Unless we let them. Nearly a third of people believe AI will decrease authenticity (The Artist User Survey 2024). It's a valid concern - we crave personal, human touch behind creative works. Some agencies remain entirely AI-free for this reason. ☝🏻 Yet avoiding AI altogether is a missed opportunity. The reality is that AI presents tools to augment, not replace, human creativity. The key is thoughtful, ethical implementation. AI can direct technology to reflect humanity's best values - if properly guided. 👉🏻 The solution is balance. Do not delegate the entire creative process to AI, but seek to harmonize AI's capabilities with human judgment and ethics. Curate AI's contributions, ensuring the personal, relatable human spark shines through. 💡 AI can help bring creative impact to new heights ... If we walk hand-in-hand.
