Ever survived a NetSuite nightmare? In 2008, I navigated the chaos and emerged wiser. Today, let me drop the wisdom bombs: Lead from the top, assemble your A-team, and choose partners like your business depends on it. Spoiler alert: It does. 🚀 So what happened? 1️⃣ Unclear Processes: Picture a pre-revenue powerhouse answering all Business Requirements Document questions with a resounding "TBD." Not the ideal situation, right? Lack of clarity led us straight into the labyrinth of implementation mayhem. 2️⃣ Absentee Leadership: The top brass knew we needed an accounting system, but commitment? That was MIA. Result? A symphony of confusion, misplaced priorities, and deadlines slipping through the cracks. Leadership, where art thou? 3️⃣ Terrible Advice: Cue the ominous music. Bad advice from our accounting oracle and the implementation squad set the stage for a nightmare. Nobody warned us about the function toggle of doom. Lesson learned: Trustworthy partners are your lifeline. Now, fast forward through the wreckage, and here's what I gleaned: 💡 Top-Down Drive: Leaders gotta lead! If they're not steering the ship, it's bound to hit an iceberg. Take the reins from the top and watch the magic happen. 💡 A-Team Assemble: Success hinges on having the right folks in the trenches. No room for amateurs – assemble your dream team for a flawless execution. 💡 Trusted Partners: Choose your comrades wisely. Find a partner who not only gets you but crafts solutions like an artisan. Their capacity and desire to understand your needs are game-changers. In the end, my dance with the NetSuite debacle taught me these invaluable lessons. Now, armed with wisdom, I'm here to spread the gospel of successful implementations. Don't let history repeat itself – learn, adapt, and conquer! 🚀 What are some lessons you learned? #NetSuiteSaga #LessonsLearned

NetSuite isn’t the problem. Your lack of process documentation is. I’ve walked into too many businesses where: -No one can explain how orders move through NetSuite -Finance doesn’t trust the numbers they’re reporting -Teams are still relying on spreadsheets instead of the system The issue? No one mapped out the business processes before implementation. NetSuite is just a tool-it only works if it’s set up to match how your business actually runs. Without clear process documentation, you’re guessing. That’s why: -Data is inconsistent -People create workarounds -NetSuite turns into an expensive headache instead of a growth engine Before you blame NetSuite, ask yourself....Do we even have our processes documented? At TFR Solutions, we specialize in fixing this. We help businesses document and optimize their workflows so NetSuite actually works for them—not against them. If your team doesn’t trust NetSuite, that’s your first problem to fix. Where do you see the biggest process gaps in your business? NetSuite not delivering how you imagined? This week, I spoke to two CFOs who both said the same thing: “I wouldn’t choose NetSuite again.” Wow! That surprised me. Most of the time, I hear about how it’s made their lives easier—streamlining operations, driving business growth, and saving costs. So, what went wrong? 🔹 Reporting wasn’t delivering the insights they needed—slow, incomplete, and frustrating. 🔹 Poor adoption—teams were still stuck in manual processes and spreadsheets. 🔹 Integration issues—data duplications, missing orders, broken automations. 🔹 Dashboards weren’t giving leadership the visibility they expected. But here’s the reality: NetSuite can solve all of this. 9 times out of 10, these problems come down to how it’s been set up, used and maintained. So, what’s the fix? Depending on your goals, you’ve got options: ✔ Independent NetSuite Contractor – A quick, cost-effective fix. ✔ Build an In-House Team – Long-term stability and control. ✔ Consulting Firm – Structured solutions, often pricier and less flexible. Each approach has its pros and cons—timeline, cost, and success rates. The right choice depends on what you need. If you’re dealing with similar challenges, chances are someone in your network has already experienced it and found a solution. Id recommend tapping into your NetSuite network for a well-recommended solution. If your network doesn't come up good, I'd highly recommend attending your next local/virtual NetSuite User Group or drop me a message—I’d be happy to point you in the right direction. #NetSuite #NetSuiteImplementation #ERP #ERPGoLive #NSUG #NetSuiteUserGroup
