Want to future-proof your career and start leveraging AI? It's a fun treasure trove of useful information. • 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗡𝗦𝗜𝗕𝗟𝗘 𝗨𝗦𝗘: AI (Generative AI especially) is not infallible. Learn about the mistakes it can make, the issues it can cause, and how to navigate them. • 𝗧𝗘𝗦𝗧 (𝗜𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸): For $15/mo, Canva is an amazing option because you can test alot of current capabilities. For $20/mo, Microsoft Copilot Pro can be added to your Office 365 account. Also for $20/mo, Google offers AI premium for your workspace (GMail, Docs, Sheets, etc). 2️⃣ 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗜-𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀. If your company offers access to AI tools, get access and use them according to their use policy. If not, create sample scenarios at home and practice. 3️⃣ 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗜 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗮 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Share that you're interested in learning more in your field. Ask if coworkers or your LinkedIn network if anyone incorporated AI into their work. Offer to continue to learn together. 4️⃣ 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗜 𝘄𝗲𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝘆𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀. There's no shortage of free webinars, conferences, etc. talking about AI. Get involved. 5️⃣ 𝗘𝗻𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗜 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱. Professional organizations and technology vendors offer lots of free training for specific use cases. 6️⃣ 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗜 𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘁. Talk to your manager about opportunities. Make it one of your professional goals to stand out. If they aren't there, contact your professional or volunteer organizations. 7️⃣ 𝗣𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀-𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. Use what you've learned to pitch an opportunity to create value at your company, your professional, or your volunteer organizations. Do these make sense for you? How are you going about it? #artificialintelligence #innovation #changemanagement #technology #digitaltransformation

How to Create Personal AI Road Map: Overcome Fear of #AI So many people have been worried that AI will take their jobs or wipe out their professions. Since AI became so popular, in leading sessions with teams & employability sessions with university students and job seekers, I always say that AI will not replace anyone; it is people who know how to use AI that will replace people who are ignorant. While speaking with someone a few days ago, I said the best way out for you is to create a personal AI roadmap. If you run a business, create an AI roadmap for your business. The truth is anyone or any business not doing this will be left behind. AI is already and will continue to be a major driver. Being passive about it will lead to chaos in a few weeks, months, and years. I told someone, do not be worried about AI; develop foresight and proactive actions about AI. Worry will not change anything, but learning, unlearning, and relearning will change so much and position you for better success. Here is a personal AI sample road map I suggest for you reading this; Step 1: Understand AI Basics Learn the Fundamentals: Start with online courses, articles, and videos to understand what AI is and how it works.  Key Concepts: Focus on basic concepts like machine learning, neural networks, and data science. Step 2: Identify Relevant AI Tools Research AI Tools: Identify AI tools and applications relevant to your field. For example, marketers can explore tools like chatbots and predictive analytics, while designers might look into AI-driven design software. Stay Updated: Follow AI news and updates through tech blogs, newsletters, and podcasts. Step 3: Develop Practical Skills Hands-On Practice: Engage with practical AI applications.  Projects and Challenges: Participate in AI projects or challenges on websites like GitHub or competitions on Kaggle to build real-world experience. Step 4: Integrate AI into Your Work Apply AI Solutions: Start integrating AI tools into your daily work. For instance, use AI for automating repetitive tasks, improving customer service, or analyzing data trends. Experiment and Adapt: Test different AI tools and methods, and adapt them to fit your needs and enhance productivity. Step 5: Continuous Learning and Networking Join AI Communities: Become part of AI communities and forums like LinkedIn groups. Networking with professionals can provide insights and opportunities. Ongoing Education: Regularly update your knowledge with advanced courses and certifications. Attend webinars, workshops, and conferences to stay informed about the latest AI advancements. Having the right foundation in AI will not happen overnight. Follow the above roadmap, and give yourself time. Now, get to work.   Any questions for me? Translating AI's Impact on Search, Social & Advertising | Principal Consultant @ LinkedIn | Human-Centered AI in Marketing Leader | Bestselling Author | International Keynote Speaker | ex-Microsoft

An Oxford study just confirmed what most of us have been saying all along: AI-generated ads can outperform human-made ones, but only when they don't obviously look AI-generated. The secret? Human refinement. The best marketing campaigns aren't purely AI-driven or entirely human-made. They're like pizza. Dough alone is just bread, toppings alone is chaos. The magic happens when everything works together. Want to collaborate with AI effectively? 1) Use AI for rapid ideation, humans for emotional depth Take your worst-performing ad copy and feed it into ChatGPT or Claude with this prompt: "Rewrite this to evoke [specific emotion: frustration, curiosity, nostalgia]. Use conversational language. Surprise me." It'll give you variations you'd never think of. Then your human brain picks the best concept and refines it until you think: "We'd never have written this ourselves." 2) Let AI spot patterns, humans craft the story AI's really good at combing through customer feedback, support tickets, and social mentions for trends. But humans make those insights into stories that actually matter. Say AI finds that most support tickets mention setup frustration. Humans craft that into: "Setup shouldn't feel like assembling IKEA furniture blindfolded." 3) AI scales the testing, you choose the winners Generate multiple variations with AI, but you decide which ones are worth spending money on. AI can create 50 headlines in minutes, your judgment tells you which 3 are worth testing. 4) You set the rules, AI fills the gaps Define your brand voice, values, and no-go zones. Then let AI work within those boundaries to fill content calendars, generate product descriptions, or create email variations. Platforms are making this easier: - Microsoft’s Ads Studio has AI-powered creative tools built into campaign workflows - Google Cloud rolled out AI marketing tools for personalized experiences - Or start simple with ChatGPT/Claude and the prompt above Stop thinking AI vs. humans. Start thinking AI + humans. Your move: This week, pick your worst-performing content. Run it through AI with a specific emotional prompt. Refine the best result with your gut instinct. That's how you make sure your marketing isn't just dough or just toppings, but complete, irresistible pizza. P.S. I'm team pineapple on pizza 🍕 + 🍍 = 🤤 (Sorry to my Italian friends! At least there's no ketchup involved... 😂) #hicm #AI #AIinAdvertising

"How did you become an AI expert?" I was asked that during a presentation recently. If you know me, you know I said, "I'm not." Sure, my role at the Marketing AI Institute may index me a bit higher in my level of understanding. But overall, I'm a user of AI, just like you. I'm really trying to be strategic about where AI fits in my systems and processes, how it can add value, and how easily it can integrate into what I'm doing and the tech we're using. As far as keeping up on AI, I will leave that to the experts in AI so I can continue to do what I was hired to do, grow our business and community. So I block time each week for a few critical things: - The Artificial Intelligence Show - Mike Kaput and Paul Roetzer cover the important AI news and break down why it's important to me. I tune in to the podcast at 7am each Tuesday and have built that into my morning walking routine. https://lnkd.in/gR4PjxPb - Webinars, podcast interviews, and more from companies like Orbit Media Studios, Content Marketing Institute, MarketingProfs, MarketMuse, and others: I usually spend Friday afternoons catching up on these and try to apply my learnings to what I have planned for the following week. - I'm in a few Slack communities. Aside from the one our team runs (https://lnkd.in/gqbCCJbF), I spend no more than 30 minutes each morning in 6sense's CMO Coffee Talk (https://lnkd.in/gVqtCHE5), and Trust Insights's Analytics for Marketers (https://lnkd.in/gwq59CyR). - Every Friday from 8am-9am, I join the CMO Coffee Talk group on Slack. Inevitably, AI comes up most weeks, but it's not an AI-focused group. This time has become an invaluable and critical part of my week. - I try to block off 1-2 hours each week (and admittedly need to get better at this) to test out new AI-powered tools and technologies. Whether it's comparing a tool to something I've been using or finding a new use case, it's important to know what's out there and how I can improve. - I find time to step away from work, my computer, and AI. There's such a huge opportunity for us to get some of our time back by having AI help us. This photo is from a recent trip to Ireland where we visited, among countless other things, the Kerry Cliffs. - And speaking of the Kerry Cliffs, pave your own path. Everyone told us to visit The Cliffs of Moher, Giant's Causeway, and many other wonders - which, of course, were spectacular. No one told us to visit the Kerry Cliffs. It was my favorite part of trip. What if we did that with our AI adoption? What if our creativity led us down a totally different path with AI that reaped amazing rewards? It can be so overwhelming to be bogged down by AI and not know where to start. I focus on a few key places, timeblock some time, and then get to work. I hope you find a balance that's right for you.
