7-8 Girls
Players are not allowed to wear jewelry of any kind. Only soft pony tail holders are allowed. Goal height will be 8ft/6in.
Game balls should be junior game balls 28.5 in. Free Throws will be from the standard free throw line minus 3 ft.
Jump ball establishes the possession arrow to start the game. Stop clock will be used in the last two minutes of the fourth quarter. Offense will have 10 sec to cross the half court line into the front court. Offense will be allowed five seconds in the lane. Offensive shots from behind the three point line will be counted.
If a player precedes a fast break, defense may pick them up immediately. If player doesnt attempt a fast break defense must get down the court.
Defense may be man to man or zone. Defense will not double team the ball until the ball has passed the three point line. Defense- starts behind the three point line. Defense players can come out if the ball comes loose, and to intercept a pass, but
if not successful the player must return to behind the three point line immediately.
Defense must be played inside the painted free throw area by a team leading by 15 or more points, but may not come out
until the lead is down to 10 points.
The score may not intentionally be run up. The winning teams coach must show some discretion when winning by 15 pts or
more, by removing or having more aggressive players/shooters pull back in order not to intentionally run up the score. Humiliating a losing team by doing this will be grounds for dismissal of the coach.
Head coach may travel up and down the sidelines during the game to offer coaching assistance. Assistance coaches must be
seated at all times.
Players will shoot one free throw at half time. Each basket made will add one point to the score. Each team will shoot an equal
number of free throws. (If teams are uneven the opposing coach will choose from the starting 5 players.)
A player, who dresses out and is on the bench to start the game, must play a minimum of 12 min per game. It is the coachs
responsibility to keep track of time played for each of his team members. If playing time is in question, it should be brought to the board. Playing time for players who arrive to a game after the second quarter has ended, is to be determined by the head coach.
