SCHOOL CULTURE & COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE Collaborating with Colleagues Participated in professional growth and collaboration through the Galileo Leadership Academy. Founded an internet-based professional learning network for Crothers Elementary via Edmodo. Facilitating Professional Development Facilitated Guided Reading for School Improvement, a six-part series for elementary teachers, and Using the Comprehension Toolkit, a two-part series for elementary teachers. Provided training and support for all district elementary teachers in the application of PowerSchool Electronic Gradebook and standards-based report cards. Presented at the National Science Teachers Association Conference in Philadelphia (2010) and at the Michigan Science Teachers Association Conference (2009 and 2010). Coordinated with a colleague to plan and facilitate a five-part literacy series for parents. Initiated a summer program open house, parent literacy meetings, and other parental involvement components for the Center Line Public Schools summer program.
CURRICULUM & INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE Assessing Student Growth and Programming Created a school-wide literacy data wall to compare multiple data sources and facilitate productive data team meetings. Analyzed MEAP and local assessment data to determine SMART goals for school improvement. Assessed student literacy (K-5) regularly using DIBELS, MLPP, NWEA MAP assessments, the Developmental Reading Assessment, and daily records; and designed instruction accordingly. Implemented pre and post-program assessment across all elementary summer programs, and analyzed data to determine individual student growth and overall program effectiveness. Developing Instructional Programs Organized a school-wide (K-5) multi-tiered system of support for literacy and math intervention driven by multiple data sources and utilizing research-based instructional resources. Designed grades K-5 summer program curriculum aligned to the Common Core Standards.
OPERATIONAL LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE Administrative Experience Acted as a guest principal at Crothers Elementary when the principal was out for various trainings, and handled all necessary administrative duties on those occasions (2012-2013). Worked as the administrator over all daily operations relating to the CLPS summer program, which included overseeing 275 students each day and a staff of 14 teachers (2010-2013). Organized schedules for all elementary summer programs, coordinating with the Transportation and Food Services departments to integrate programs seamlessly (2010-2013). Interviewed and hired summer program teaching and support staff in collaboration with the district human resources department (2010-2013). Center Line Foundation Grant for instructional technology (October 2010). Macomb Great Start Readiness Program Grant to support the summer program (July 2010). Center Line Foundation Grant for Braidy Story Grammar materials (October 2009).
