Stage 1- Desired Results Lesson 5 Content Standard (s): W.CCR.

5 - Develop and strengthen writing as needed by planning, revising, editing, rewriting, or trying a new approach. W.2.1 - Students read nonfiction text and write paragraphs that express opinions on topics from the text. W.2.7 - Participate in shared research and writing projects. 2.L.1 - Understand animal life cycles and be able to describe it and the animal. W.4.2- Write informative/explanatory texts to examine a topic and convey ideas and information clearly. Understanding(s)/Goals: -Students will understand that we should always revise what we write by rereading and editing. Students will also understand the value of completing a peer view with writing pieces.

Essential Question (s): - How can we make our own writing better? - How can I analyze another students writing?

Student Objectives (outcomes): - Students will be able to edit their own papers and learn how to make them better with teacher guidance. They will learn to look for their own mistakes before getting someone else to read their paper.

Stage 2- Assessment Evidence Performance Task (s): - Students will make corrections to papers with the guidance of a teacher.

Other Evidence: - Students will peer review one anothers writing. Stage 3- Learning Plan

Learning Activities: - Students will re-read their papers and start making corrections on what they see they did wrong. They need to look at grammatical errors, and content errors. After they have edited and conferences with a teacher they will meet with a peer to review each others work. The students will use a peer review guide to look for any errors in the writing. -After students have completed the peer review they will make any other corrections needed and start working on their final drafts.
