Speed Control of DC - FINAL

The document discusses an experiment to control the speed of a DC motor using closed-loop control in PSIM. It describes the model used, which provides AC power to a rectifier and motor, and compares feedback to control the output voltage. Results are shown for three motor speeds of 800, 1000, and 1200 RPM.

EXPERIMENT:-6
AIM:- Close-loop speed control of DC Motor using PSIM. INTRODUCTION: The development of high performance motor drives is very important in industrial as well as other purpose applications. Generally, a high performance motor drive system must have good dynamic speed command tracking and load regulating response. The dc motors are used in various applications such as defense, industries, Robotics etc. DC drives, because of their simplicity, ease of application, Reliability and favorable cost have long been a backbone of industrial applications.

Procedure: The model represents the Close-loop speed control of DC Motor Drive. We give 3-phase ac supply to the three-phase bridge rectifier circuit, which is connected in parallel with the DC Motor. At the output, we get 250 dc voltage which having corrected voltage after comparing with the feedback signal. Then result is taken using SimView.

Results:-

We have taken the results for three different speeds and obtain the speed control of dc motor as graph shown below. Speed at 800 RPM Speed at 1000 RPM Speed at 1200 RPM
