Water Level Measurement

The document describes a water level measurement system that uses two tanks with pumps to suck water out. The pumps are AC motors that are controlled by 12V DC relays, which are switched on and off by a control unit. The control unit uses comparators and relays to monitor the water level and automatically control the pumps. It also has an indicator box with LEDs to visually show the current water level.

Object: To Study the Working of Transistor as a Switch Apparatus:

Power Supply Water Tanks Prepared Circuitry board

Theory:
Water level measurement System is actually a setup by which we can monitor and Control the level of water by a manual method as well as by automatic control. It so happened that two tanks which contains a Sucking Motors which Suck water out of the Tank. These motors are AC motors which are operated by 220V AC Supply. The switching actions of the motors are controlled by using 12V DC Relays. The Relays are Single Pole Double Through (SPDT) Relays, which is operated by 12V DC and controls 220V AC for the Motors. The circuit of the Water Level Measurement System is placed on the setup of the Control unit specially design for the circuit of System. The Control unit is based on two parts. The First part is composed of the basic circuit of controlling relays and level through the comparator Circuit and the 2 nd part of the Control unit only used as the Indicator which indicates the Required result rough LED.

Main control Unit of the System

The main control unit consists of the Comparators, relays and The Control Switches. For the operation of Comparator general purpose and popular Comparator IC LM339 is used. The control box consists of the 8 comparator Circuits, four 12V DC SPDT Relays and two Switches which is used to switch on and off the System.

Indicator box of the System

The 2nd part only consists of the indicator box of the system. In which 5V and Ground pins are connected and on the top LEDs are placed whos inputs are the output of the Comparator. As the positive input of the comparator goes high than the negative input then the Indication becomes high, shows that the level of the water in tank reaches the required level.
