A short Essay on Podgorica The capital city of MONTENEGRO

Podgorica

Podgorica is the capital city of Montenegro. It has a population of about 625 000 and it is the largest city in the republic. The city itself has a lot of busy streets. There are a lot of up market shops and either pricey, sometimes overpriced restaurants, but not far away from the city centre you can find restaurants which offer good valve and more relaxed atmosphere. The most famous street in Podgorica is Hercegovacka Street, which is lined with shops, lively bars and fashionable pubs. On the other hand there are a lot of old, dirty and damaged buildings even though we are in the 21st century. But the advantage of this city is that everything is within walking distance of the centre. Thats a good thing because the volume of traffic has increased in recent years and we sometimes have a traffic jam during the whole day.

Podgorica has two shopping malls: Delta City and Gintash. In Gintash you can find domestic vegetables and fruits so tourists can eat healthy while they are in our country :). Delta City is a very pleasant, clean place (my favorite).There are a lot of shops for shopaholic tourists. But if you dont like shopping you can go on the second floor, relax and watch a good movie while your friends are shopping! Still, even though there are not many interesting sights to see its well worth a visit.
