Compiled by the Department of Anaesthesia,
Middlemore Hospital. 2005 edition.
© Dept of Anaesthesia, Middlemore Hospital. January 2005 1INTRODUCTION
This is the 2005 edition of the text compiled by members of the Anaesthetic
department of Middlemore Hospital. The book was first published in November 2000
and has undergone several revisions since. This year the chapters on inhalational
anaesthetics and postoperative nausea and vomiting have been revised to bring
them up to date. An Induction in Anaesthesia continues to be aimed at those who
desire a concise and uncomplicated overview of the many facets of anaesthesia and
continues to be very popular ‘frst text’ for students, house surgeons, SHO’s, nurses
and technicians.
