Capacitance: D A C CV Q

Capacitance is a measure of how much charge a capacitor can store. It depends on the surface area of the capacitor plates, the distance between them, and the dielectric material between the plates. Capacitors can be combined in series or parallel. When capacitors are in series, the total capacitance is less than the smallest individual capacitor. When in parallel, the total capacitance is greater than the largest individual capacitor. When a charged capacitor is connected to a resistor, the capacitor will discharge through the resistor over time in an exponential decay described by the time constant, which is equal to the resistor-capacitor product.

Capacitance
Capacitance is the measure of the size of a capacitor,
defined by the surface area of the plates in the
capacitor, and the plate separation. It also depend son
the dielectric constant of the dielectric material which
separates the two plates which make up a capacitor.

Energy from Capacitors
The electric potential at a point is the work done in moving a charge from 0 to . The
work done charging a capacitor is stored in the electric field of the capacitor.
