Rampage (’99) TL/SC

Team History

In 2007 Scott Varney and

Rampage Coach Travis Loftus put
together a group of 5 players to play
in the 3v3 Live Soccer Tournament.
The players were pulled from several
teams and recruiting was somewhat
word of mouth.

When these five players hit to

field it was magical. They quickly
meshed together and rolled
through the competition, easily
winning the tournament.

Coach Loftus, realizing what a talented group of players he

had just coached, committed to building on this core. He began
scouting additional talent, joined forces with fellow Rampage
Coach Spencer Corgiat, and put together an indoor soccer
team.
The team crushed the competition, winning each of the
Ultimate Indoor sessions. The 3rd session, compiling an astonishing
figure of 149 goals for and only 6 against.

In the Spring of 2008, Coach Loftus set his sites on the Roy
High 3v3 Tournament. Once again, his core of 5 players hit the
circuit. This time playing up and winning the tournament in the
older U-10 division. These five young players were fabulous, thus
coining their new nicknames, The Fab Five.

Word of the team’s success spread and soon the best players
in the area were on a rampage to join the team.
Rampage played in several area tournaments and had
’99

impressive results. The team’s valor was realized in Cedar City,

winning the gold medal at the Utah Summer Games.

With their incredible success, the coaches decided to register

the boys for the UYSA X-League in the Fall of 2008. The team
played the top premier competition in the state that year, and
finished near the top both seasons.

Along the way, they continued their indoor soccer, futsal, and
outdoor tournament play, adding to their growing pile of medal
hardware.
The Rampage TL/SC team is a tight knit family. The players
’99

are awesome – on the field and off. The parents get along great
and are a fun, energetic group. The coaches understand and
love the game of soccer.
Our Rampage coach’s only compensation is the satisfaction
of developing these boys into the best players and ’99 team in
the state of Utah.

Additional players
have recently been
added, and the future
looks bright for this
incredible team.

“History will be kind to me for I

intend to write it.”
