Pressure gauge syphons and snubbers are intended to protect pressure gauges from the effects of pressure surges and peaks. Syphons should be filled with water when installed. Snubbers can restrict flow using an adjustable needle valve to increase gauge life in conditions with pulses and pressure variations, such as pumps and compressors. They also improve gauge readings. Models BDT42 and BDT43 are syphons available in carbon steel or stainless steel with 1/2" BSP or NPT connections. Model BDT45 is a snubber also with 1/2" connections.

as steam and also to reduce the effect of rapid pressure surges. When first installed the siphon should be filled with water or any other suitable separating fluid.

Badotherm pressure gauge snubbers are used to suppress the effect of pulses and pressure peaks. The flow can be restricted by an adjustable needle valve. The carefully adjusted snubber will considerably increase the life of a pressure gauge at arduous conditions such as found at reciprocating pumps and compressors, hydraulic presses or fluid power systems and will additionally improve the reading of the gauge.
