We had clear diction when singing.
Our song choices reflected us as a group.
Our songs engaged the audience.
Our instrumental backing, played by Megan, ran smoothly.
Overall, I am pleased with how the night went. There were no major issues we faced during
our performance, which kept us going without any nerves creeping in. Our song choices
were even with a rise and fall between slow and upbeat songs to entice the audience. I
spoke between each song to keep the audience engrossed in our performance.
%eaknesses
The only Weakness we faced as a trio was when we had different opinions when deciding
on songs for our final set list. To overcome this we sat down and discussed what we
thought showed who we are as a group and what type of music we wanted to be known for.
&''ortunities
The ock school course has showed me what it is like within the music industry. It has
given me the needed skills to arrange a gig and be able to do all the necessary paper work,
such as risk assessments, for the gig to happen. Thanks to this unit I am now able to set up
my own e!uipment and can adjust the sound to get the highest level of performance
possible just in case I decide to pursue a singing career in the future.
(hreats
"uckily, we did not e#perience any major issues with our sound or technical e!uipment. On
the night, the only real threat we e#perienced was the fact that the stage was also set up for
two ock bands linked to the ock school Wales project. To overcome this, we positioned
ourselves to ensure that it was possible for us to move our e!uipment on and off the stage
when we needed.
Conclusion
I believe I have achieved a $istinction in this unit as I have followed all the criteria set and
have made a set of achievable and realistic goals for myself. I planned carefully the
appearance and sound of our performance and planned each detail carefully. I have shown
a clear understanding of the risks and how we can overcome them during and before our
performance. In preparation, we practised thoroughly and ensured that we were all up to
the standard needed to obtain the $istinction we know we can achieve. I was organised in
completing all my work by the deadlines set with no teacher input. I feel I have realistically
and honestly evaluated my performance against the criteria and have met all the standards
I needed to meet.
