Neuralnetworks 7

This document summarizes a study comparing Multiple Layer Perceptron Networks and Radial Basis Function Networks for character recognition. It describes the basics of neural networks and feature extraction using zoning. The paper compares both theoretical and applied properties of MLPN and RBFN based on published results, analyzing them for a variety of pattern recognition domains widely applied in practical cases.

Abstract :

The paper is organized as follows: The first section of the paper describes about the
basics of Neural Networks (NN) i.e. MLP, back propagation, OCR, RBF, Second MLPN and
RBFN are compared based on variety of pattern recognition domains widely applied in practical
cases Next, feature extraction method implemented using zoning and we conclude with various
data-intensive applications using neural networks. This paper compares Multiple Layer
Perceptron Network with Radial Basis Function Network in pattern classification applications.
Comparison of both theoretical and applied properties of the above mentioned neural network is
conducted based on theoretical analysis of the published results.
