Research and Work experience
Fractional Fourier Transform and using it to get chirp parameters (summer13)
Guide:Prof.V.M.Gadre,IITBombay
Surveyed literature on Fractional Fourier Transform and its discrete version
Gave proofs for formulae of chirp parameter estimation using this transform
Simulated chirp detection for various SNRs in MATLAB and verified that these formulae give correct
results for SNRs up to -20 dB
Received Undergraduate Research Award (URA) for this project
Optoelectronic Emitters seminar talk at Indo-European Winter Academy, 2013 (winter13)
Represented IIT Bombay at Indo-European winter academy 2013, Guwahati held jointly by 7 IITs,
FAU - Erlangen-Nuremberg, KTH Stockholm
Attended the course High Performance Computing with applications in Electrical Engineering,
Materials and processes which involves seminar talks on advanced topics and intense discussion
Presented talk on Optoelectronic Emitters with contents ranging from basics to current research
topics on LEDs and LASERs
Teaching Assistant (spring14,autumn13,12)
One of the few UG teaching assistants for Calculus course (MA 105) since last two offerings and
Linear Algebra course (MA 106) for the current offering.
Conducted 1hr tutorial sessions for assignment solving and doubt-clearing for 40 strength class once
a week among other duties
Projects undertaken
Sensing using ordinary LEDS (spring13)
Guide:Prof.S.Lodha,IITBombay
Used ordinary LEDs to sense light instead of emitting light using a less-known technique
Described hardware using Verilog and implemented it on CPLD
Used these to make e-slate. It is an LED matrix and pattern drawn on this slate using a laser pointer
is displayed on a graphic LCD
Wireless Communication using Amplitude Shift Keying (ASK) (autumn13)
Guide:Prof.J.Mukherjee,IITBombay
Designed circuits for ASK modulation and demodulation for medium wave band
Transmitted and received the modulated waveforms wirelessly through antennae
A microcontroller sends bit data and another microcontroller receives the data using UART protocol
over this channel, thereby transmitting a text message wirelessly
Piano using a microcontroller (autumn13)
Guide:ProfD.K.Sharma,IITBombay
Microcontroller outputs waveforms to the speaker corresponding to musical note pressed
Debounced monopole key by implementing a generic finite state machine
Op-amp Design and implementation (spring13)
Guide:Prof.AnilKG,IITBombay
Designed analog circuit of an op-amp with given specifications and simulated it on LT-SPICE
Implemented the design using discrete components and checked for the specifications
