Answer ALL of the questions given.

1. Calculate the kinetic energy of a car of mass 3000 kg moving at the speed of 250
ms-1.
2. Calculate the gravitational potential energy gained when a weightlifter lifts a
mass of 120 kg up by 2.5 m. Calculate the work done by the weightlifter. Based
on your calculations, state the relationship between potential energy and work.
3. A 10 kg box is pushed forward using a force of 50 N. It is noted that the friction of
the floor is 10 N. Calculate the acceleration of the box.
4. A ball is drop from a height of 8 m. The mass of the ball is 2 kg. Determine the
maximum speed of the ball before it touches the ground.
5. Calculate the work done by a worker if he pushes a 60 kg boulder forward 50 m
using a force of 100 N. What is the acceleration of the boulder?
6. Calculate the work done when a box is pulled forward 25 m with a force of 120 N.
If the time taken is 2 minutes, calculate the power required.

7. Based on the diagram above, the ball travels at a distance of 15 m. Calculate the
velocity of the ball.
8. A man weighing 70 kg is climbing up a staircase in 30 s. The total height of the
staircase is 15 m. Calculate the work and power done by the man.
