Scope of Work ‘This method statement is to demonstrate the method and procedure for the installation of the pre-finished door-sets at Suites and Corridors under Sundart scope of works. 2. Construction Procedures A. General Procedures i. iv. vie All doorset shall be prefabricated in the supplier's factories. Openings and recesses required for ironmongery fittings and accessories shall be pre- formed in their factory too. ‘The ironmongeries such as hinges, lock case, security viewer, concealed door closer shall be installed in the doorset while delivered to site. All single leaf door & frame shall be pre-hung and pre-finished. Sundart will install the intumescent seal for fire rated door-sets after door fixing in order to cover the fixing screw holes should these holes are formed inside the intumescent seal recess groove. All door sub-frames (if any) shall be factory applied with approved wood preservative with colour pigment for easy identification. : We shall coordinate with the door supplier and drywall partition contractor in regarding the overall door size including acceptable thickness. We will only provide the wall finishes thickness. Drywall / concrete wall openings for doors must be checked against door schedule on site prior to door delivery, distribution, uplifting and installation. Opening dimension must be coordinated to ensure sufficient room for door installation, B. Installation of Pre-Finished Timber Door-set ( supplied by others) Tools & Accessories - ‘Torque controlled electric screw driver, level, plumb bob, wood screws, timber wedges and hand-held tools such as screwdriver, hammer and measuring tape ete. Check the sub-frame (if available) and make sure it does not twist and its er dimension is sufficient to install the pre-finished door-set. The site should be dry and in weather tight condit For fire rated doors only, gaps between door sub-frame (if available) and pre-finished door frame are to be filled with appropriate filler and fire rated sealant (fully complied with the supplier's Fire Certificate Door leaf and frame are pre-assembled, pre-hung and pre-mortised for door hinge, lockset, door viewer, concealed door closer etc. by supplier at factory before delivery. © Put the whole pre-finished door-set into position inside the sub-frame (Gf available) (one worker worked inside, and the other one worked outside), then check and adjust the level and alignment. When adjusted correctly use the timber wedges / shims / packs to stabilize the door. © For non fire rated doors insert wood screws to the pre-drilled holes at the door frame (screw holes are to be covered by the planted (removable) door stop at frame), fix the door frame into the sub- frame by tighten the screw with electric screwdriver with pre-set torque. Install the planted (removable) door stop back to door frame to hide the screw heads after the door is installed. © For fire rated doors insert wood screws to the pre~drilled holes at the center of the door frame inside the recessed groove of the intemescent seal, fix the door frame into the sub-frame by tighten the screw with electric screwdriver with pre-set torque. Note: the pre- drill holes at the centre of door frames are to be form at the door manufacturer’s factory and the numbers of screw holes and their position are to be determined by the door supplier. Installer shall install the intemescent seal to cover the screw heads, © Check the level and alignment again, remove the bracing strips after confirming that the door-set is installed properly. Presumably door leaf and frame will be packed separately by the door supplier and the frame components are fo be packed in bundles. Door leaf and frame are pre-mortised by the supplier at factory before delivery. Assemble the main frame on site, Hold the assembled main frame in upright position inside the sub- frame and use wooden wedges / shims / packs to stabilize it Check and adjust the level and alignment and the screw fixing method is similar to the installation of single leaf door-set as above described. Installer shall aware that those screw holes are to be covered by either planted stop or intumescent seal. Fix the hinge (for fire rated door add intumescent backing if required by the door supplier) to the hinge recess on the door leaf (the recess is pre-mortised at the factory). Note: Intumescent backing material is to be provided by the door supplier. Hold the door leaf upright to the door frame, then position the hinge blade to the hinge recess on the door jamb and fix with screw. For fire rated door add intumescent material as backing to hinge recess at door frame if required by the door supplier. Check and make sure that the door leaf can be opened and closed properly. Remove the bracing strips on the main frame, vii. Fix the architrave on the main frame by pneumatic driven pins so as to cover the tolerance gap between the door frame and sub-ftame / door opening. Install intumescent seal at the fire rated door frame by approved glue to cover the screw holes. Glue is to be provided by the door supplier in ensuring compatibility with the intumescent seal. ix. Install timber door architraves by pneumatic driven secret fixing pins. x Pin head at architrave shall be touched-up by special caulking putty of color toned to match the door finishing. xi.
