HIGH SPEED EDDY CURRENT

TESTING FOR HEAT EXCHANGERS AND CONDENSERS

State of the Art Products

and Services for NDT

TesTex, Inc. provides high speed automated eddy

current testing using the TX 4400 ECT system combined with
either the PD 6k or the PDP 22 system. The PD 6k is a fully
automated probe driving system with a manual probe retrieve.
The PDP 22 is a fully automated probe driving and probe
retrieving system. With the ability to inspect up to 8 (30ft/
10m long) heat exchanger or condenser tubes per minute, this
is clearly the fastest turn-key inspection in the world.

.

Minimized inspection time leads to shorter outages.

Probe insertion speed up to 22 ft/sec.
Inspection of up to 8 tubes per minute (30ft/10m long).
System and services backed by over 20 years of actual field
testing services.
Uses a 4 frequency, simultaneous injection, ECT system with 8
standard channels along with multiple mixing channels.
Using 4 frequencies eliminates false positives such as magnetic inclusions.
I.D./O.D. defects are immediately distinguishable.
Unwanted signals such as support plates can be suppressed.
Possible to inspect up to 2,000 - 2,500 tubes (30 long) in a
normal working day using a single instrument.
Typical response from the above calibration standard
Manual and computer automated analysis is done on the spot.
Final draft report issued immediately after testing is completed.
Report includes colored tube sheet maps so problem areas can A) 360 degree 10% I.D. ring
G) 40% O.D. pit
be immediately identified.
B) 360 degree 10% O.D. ring
H) 60% O.D. pit
C,D,E) Long O.D. thinning
I) 80% O.D. pit
F) 20% O.D. pits
J) 0.052 dia. thru hole
