Sick of Church & Hungry for
God
July 26-August 1
Father God,
Thank you for loving me and taking care of me. Bless my church, Pastor
Ron and his family. Bless my teachers for teaching me Your Word. I believe your love is flowing through me to other people. Help me to obey my
parents so things will go well with me and I will live a long life on the earth.
I will tell how great You are and how much I love You. I thank You that by
Jesus stripes I am healed.
In Jesus name,
Amen
I will thirst after righteousness, and be blessed.
Matthew 5:6
I will cling to God, His right hand upholds me.
Psalm 63:8
I hear Gods voice.
Revelation 3:20
If the one thing we want most every day is to be right with
God, then we will listen for Him to talk with us all day long.
Matthew 5:6, Blessed are they who hunger and thirst after
righteousness, for they shall be filled.
People all over the world are hungry to know what the future
will be like for them; others want to know about the past or to
see or talk to their loved ones who have died. The hunger for
experiences with things that cannot be seen with our natural
eyes is called a hunger for the supernatural. Christians call this a
hunger for spiritual food and church is the place they go to get
fed the spiritual food. Sadly though, at many churches all
people get are a few songs and stories that make them feel
better about the way they are living. So they leave church
feeling like they dont have any answers to the questions that
are rolling around inside them causing the hunger and the
thirst.
God made every man in the image of Himself, Jesus, and the
Holy Spirit. Like God, we are 3 part beings: spirit, soul, and body.
When we feed our bodies food and exercise our bodies we
expect to have strong healthy bodies. When we feed our minds
with books and equations and formulas to exercise our thinking
we expect to have strong healthy minds that can think clearly
and work out problems. To have the strong healthy spirit that
is really the engine behind our bodies and souls (mind, will, and
emotions) we will have to feed and exercise our spirits, too.
Just like there is junk food for your body, there is junk food and
poison for your spirit. True God chasers are not satisfied with
junk food. They spend time with God, and expect to be led by
Holy Spirit throughout the day. They make God the #1 person
in their life and He faithfully shows them His plan for them and
how that plan fits into the rest of the world.
