Elements of Poem - Sad I Ams

The poem "Sad I Am" is written from a first person perspective about feeling sad and neglected. It consists of four stanzas without a rhyme scheme. The speaker uses simple language to compare himself to useless household objects, expressing themes of feeling unloved, losing direction, and negativism. The tone is serious and disappointing as the speaker feels lost within his family. Symbols of useless scrappings and a frustrating roll of tape are used.
