Mythology Project Directions 2010

This month, students will research a Greek god or goddess, learn about their symbols and powers, and present what they learned to the class. They will also create a costume representing their deity and participate in a Greek mythology fashion show on April 2nd. After the show, students will sample Greek foods as part of a cultural experience. Parents are encouraged to be creative with costumes without spending a lot of money.

Mythology in march

Greek God/Goddess Research &


Fashion Show!

This month, your child will need to:


• Select a god or goddess from Greek mythology to
research (we’ll do this in class).
• Learn the deity’s symbol, powers and other interesting
information of their choice to briefly present to the
class (verbally, written or a poster)
• Create a costume that represents your deity based on
what was learned about that deity

This project is due on April 2nd. If your child does not


bring their costume by the 2nd, they will not be a part of
our fashion show scheduled for 9:00-9:15 a.m.

After the fashion show, we will also have a tasting of


Greek foods. I’ll send more information on that later.

Please let me know if I can assist with materials that the


school has available. BE CREATIVE (but don’t feel like you
have to spend a fortune)!
