EXPERIENCE
*Recreation should be recognized as an
essential part of life.
Man inherits play as a biological urge in his
childhood.
*It
is person-centered.
The focus in recreation should be on the
individual, not on the activity.
*Recreation is participation as opposed
to inactivity.
The activity may involve quiet discussions or
contemplation, participation in the most rigorous sport, or
any point on the continuum between.
*Recreation occurs in leisure.
The time for recreation is the time when one is
free the demands of work of self-maintenance.
*Involvement is Voluntary. Individual
participant in recreation voluntarily and are free to
disengage themselves.
