Participants must be able to navigate a search engine, send email (for assignment submission), and
understand basic software such as Microsoft Office.

Standards

Participants will describe the different ways technology impacts classroom assessments,
both formative and summative including three (3) key examples in a short essay.

Participants will demonstrate proficiency in technology based assessments by creating two


(2) classroom assessments using Web 2.0 tools.

Curriculum materials for planning

1) Watch instructor-made screencast presentation on formative and summative assessments and


the Web 2.0 tools geared for checking for student learning.
2) Read instructor-made article describing key apps and Web 2.0 tools to aid in checking for
student learning including Kahoot, Survey Monkey, Google Forms, etc.
3) Complete Activity 3.1 in which participants describe the different ways technology impacts
classroom assessments, both formative and summative including three (3) key examples in
an essay. Submit via email by end of Day 3.
4) Complete Activity 3.2 in which participants create two (2) assessments to check for their
students understanding using Web 2.0 tools. Submit via email by end of Day 3.

Evaluation

Activity 3.1 will be used to evaluate fulfillment of Objective 1- Describe the different ways
technology impacts classroom assessments, both formative and summative including three (3) key
examples in a short essay.
Activity 3.2 will be used to evaluate fulfillment of Objective 2 - Demonstrate proficiency in
technology based assessments by creating two (2) classroom assessments using Web 2.0 tools.
